It's a shame it had to end this way tbh. Ok he wanted to leave, the love was gone (which I think is the case for most of them after last season). But I would have liked him to do a Ramsey, and give it one last good season, before leaving with a solid send off on free in the summer.

For me though, he's been our best pure footballer since Modric left, and therefore one of the best in the last 30 years of the club. I'll always welcome him back for legends games and the like.

I'm glad this appears to be over and done with. I'm glad we got a fee for him instead of him going on a free in the Summer.

Yeah I’m massively surprised. Apparently inter are paying him £260k a week though so that probably smoothed things over for him.

Agree. He has tainted his legacy somewhat with some seriously below par form over the last couple of seasons. It looks like he’s not putting in the effort but perhaps that it is a symptom of things having gone stale for him at the club therefore moving on is probably the right decision.

Overall though we got him for a bargain price and for 4 or 5 seasons he was superb for us, absolutely integral to our rise in recent years. He has also been wonderful to watch and very professional during his years at the club. For that he should always be guaranteed a warm welcome.

Won’t miss him at all tbh which is a shame as apart from the last couple of years he’s been great for us and was one of our best players.

He stayed too long with us.

It’s always hard when a player leaves in what seems to be his prime, but the last 18 months shows the flip side of keeping a player who needs a new challenge.

We’d all have been better off had he gone in summer 2018. Us receiving the money to invest in the team, and him not suffering from the steep decline that a lack of motivation can bring.

A top player at his best but, like so many of this squad, not quite top class enough to bring us success. Wish him well but the fact he’s moving to Inter Milan instead of Barca, Madrid etc really says all you need to know.

Had this happened a year ago then I would have been devastated but I just feel very meh about his whole situation now. I don't feel bothered about him leaving which is a real shame as he was fantastic for us. I think I stopped caring about him the moment he stopped caring about us.

I think Ramsey wanted to sign a new contract (albeit a hefty one) but goons pulled the plug, so he would’ve been motivated to show the club what they were losing. Eriksen hasn’t wanted to sign a new contract and knows he’ll be gone sooner or later, but I don’t blame him for leaving. He’s probably seen that Spurs aren’t really going to achieve anything soon with the way the club is run, and has a better chance of a trophy even with Inter.

His performances haven’t been great for a while but once you’ve decided to go your heart isn’t really in it anymore.

A bit of a sideways step was it worth running his contract down for.
He could have had Madrid or Barca but i stead chose to mail it in for 12 months including the final. His own fault. Between spouting off to the press before and after the summer and the lack of effort he put in the last year, hes deserved the sideways step

Does anyone really think that he chose to not play well in the biggest game that he could be involved in? What would he possibly get out of that?

The interesting thing for me here, is that having run his contract down so far, he wouldn’t wait 6 more months and bank a huge signing on bonus as a transfer fee wouldn’t be needed.
Clearly well out of love with Spurs

True, but by going now he has ensured that the Club get some money for him, more than we paid in fact, so maybe he did still care!

Some of you still talk about Eriksen like he single handedly somehow lost us the CL Final. He's not been playing well, but this Spurs team haven't been playing well for ages. Eriksen's demise is just one part of the massive collective demise in this squad.

Anyway, superb football player and he was integral in the Pochettino renaissance, I'll always have fond memories of this solemnly grim-looking Hamlet like figure called Eriksen despite the lacklustre last months. Football careers are short and he and his family want to try something else, a change of scenery, a new challenge etc. I can't fault him for that.

People having a pop at Eriksen is just sour grapes.
The guy was honest and open about his plans. He was one of our most important players of the poch era. He owes us naught. I can't lay all the blame at him for our dip in form. There have been far too many other factors.
Best of luck to him I say. Spurs will survive without him.

We slag off players for wanting to leave in contract and we slag them off for wanting to see their contracts out - Some of the bad vibes in football comes from us fans.

He has spent most of his career wearing our shirt and acted in a professional manner.

Good luck to the guy. I hope he tears up Serie A. Will have fond memories - particularly that absolute rocket against Chelsea!

Have to agree. Can't even imagine the uproar on here had we sold him at his peak value.

Our entire team has been paying shite for as long as Eriksen. Coincidence? - not at all. His fault? as much as anyone else.

Its just easier to get mad at Eriksen cos he is leaving, rather than question the players that are sitting on long contracts seemingly 'committed' yet playing equally as shite for just as long.

Such an amazing player - finesse, intelligence, creativity, technique - he has it all. He's gonna be so good for Inter - they are getting an absoltue bargain. It still wouldn't surprise me if he ended up at Juve or Barcelona in a couple of years time - he really is that good.

He's definitely that talented. He'll need to rediscover his mojo. Good luck to him.

I think he'll thrive in the slightly slower pace of Italy, and yeah, he could well end up there
