I forgot about bakambu. I would have him before giroud easily. Very quick and the boy can finish.

The Giroud being slow arguments are so dumb. You know who is fast, Lucas Moura, our current striker and it doesn’t matter because he’s not a fucking striker.

How fast does Giroud need to be when he’s got some combination of Son, Bergwijn, Dele, Moura, and Lo Celso making runs off his hold up play?

Absolutely. We need someone with the right attributes for our needs based on the team. All that counter attacking quality and pace and next to no doubt to be a fox in the box or to hold the ball up allowing them to join the attack. It doesn't surprise me to see us linked with Willian Jose, Giroud etc he fits our current needs.

Fuck it lets get Bakambu instead, loan with option already sorted by Barca, they even sorted his flights to Europe. He even confirmed the deal on his twitter.

This guy strong, powerful, good in air , decent pace and very importantly has a very decent goal scoring record, he is a bit drogba esque, live diving but maybe not great on the offside rule. Levy can even recoup the willian travel cost. A very JM signing in many ways

Why are Chelsea looking for a striker, when they've got Giroud, who is apparently good enough for us?
Ok, he's probably better than our current options but I'm really not sure about him.

Apparently rejected Newcastle twice in this window. Awks.

Inter Milan now made a new bid after pulling out of deal for Llorente.

Lazio also want him.

Player wants Spurs and its thought he might go AWOL today from training in order to force the move.

In response to your reply yesterday.

It could show a lack of planning... Or it shows a club that won’t waste £30m on signing Piatek who isn’t premier league proven which is prudent. It shows a club that won’t just take a big money player like Bale back without making him fit to the clubs financial model.

I actually think it’s excellent planning to make solid deals in January where possible and keep the powder dry for bigger fish in the summer window.

My point isn't that we aren't signing a striker this window due to the high risk and low quality of what is available. I agree with you that it is good business sense to leave alone and what we have done we have done well in this window.

My point is WHY we are in this position in the 1st place. We needed another forward last summer. We needed a Dembele replacement the summer before that. These are shortcomings from a poor strategy.

And I'm telling you now, new excuses will be churned out in the summer when we again fail to address deficiencies in our squad.

Close but no cigar. Again.

We should honestly just go get Rondon, Bakambu or Ighalo. Always liked Rondon, he’s such a bully up top.
I was thinking the same.
If it's not only journalistic talk and we're actually serious about Giroud, I'd much rather have Rondon (if available)

Don't want any of the names linked but I'd take Giroud at this stage over Ballotelli and Benteke.

Absolutely nailed on. We have been very efficient with our planning but ultimately we are coming up short due to our late goings on with Dybala and the dragging out of the Llorente deal which ultimately saw him join Napoli on a contract twice as long as the one we apparently had offered him.

If we knew we needed a striker then, surely we should have made it happen in another player or at worst had someone lined up as soon as January hit to limit the issues we clearly felt we had when pursuing Dybala or a 1 year offer to Llorente. This issue still exists, will probably still exist next season as Parrott should really spend a year out on loan so why is getting someone now really any different to the summe, especially if it's only a 1.5-2.5 year spell we seek them for because of Troy.

Just sign someone, know it's good for the squad, the club and to take some pressure off of Kane as he nurses a fee niggles here and there. Do it and then focus on a couple of other areas come the summer.

Whoever we sign will probably get injured after 1 game. Would be classic Spurs luck. Vorm/NDombele/Lo Celso/Sess case in point.

It's gonna be the usual today. Scrambling around for any striker ITK will be we are try, we'll have the overdraft ITK. Then silence for 3 or 4 hours followed by .... Mourinho is happy with his squad so we won't be signing a striker followed by the old Spurs will be doing no more business this January. Then 9pm sky will fabricate a link to get all our hopes up again for nothing to happen.
