Too many I feel are almost professional in their attempts to pretend to be offended. Showing my age but in my day being daft/stupid/whatever at his age was expected of young men. Now you are expected to be fully mature and aware at birth.
This is the kind of post that I find frustrating.

What Dele did was not in privacy. He made a partially racist joke and included a complete stranger into it.

If a mate of mine told a joke about the Corona virus I wouldn't care. If he made the joke and looked at an Asian person, I'd tell him to shut the fuck up.

It doesn't mean I have taken offence, am a snowflake or any of the other lazy bullshit people constantly come out with. I just personally see it as wrong and have no problem with saying so.

Just overall I guess. Meme-makers include random people in their memes all the times with varying dark humour. Just a question that popped up when I read your post.

I love dark humour myself so I don't see the big deal.
I guess with memes the generator isn't going to get the backlash. If someone posted a meme on here that people find offensive or over the line then they'd probably get a bit of a dressing down same as they do on Facebook.

Yeah. This is not directed at you, but it feels like people will laugh at a meme even if it's quite dark, but if they would find out who created it to begin with, would they then condemn that person?

Some might I guess. For me the difference is telling a dark joke for everyone and telling a joke aimed at someone. My issue with Alli's joke was aiming it partially at the Asian man.

I was offended it was a but racist in my mind, but sure when he was doing it just thought it was funny.

Got over it as soon as he apologised.

He is a kid ,will do something stupid again fairly shortly I am sure.

Racism from any player must be severely punished.

Dele was an idiot. Does anyone seriously believe he eiether is a racist or had a single iota of racist intent in this stunt?

Give him a slap on the wrist, make sure he thinks next time, but banning a player for being a bit of a dick is ridiculous. Felt exactly the same about the Man City incident a while ago.

He is a thick as shit young footballer who would otherwise be stocking shelves at Asda and doing wheelies in the street on a BMX until he is 45.
I don't expect anything better to be honest.

The real issue and the reason for the hasty apology though is not the social or moral outrage it's the fact that China is prone to cancelling any brand that doesn't bend the knee or strays from the party line. It's a big market and we want a slice of that pie.

I imagine levy hit the roof and hauled him in.

I also think what a player does in his private life shouldn't be anything to do with the FA. We've gone all Big Brother lately. If anyone should punish a player, I think it should be the club as they are ones who could potentially be affected. He knows he was stupid, a rap on the knuckles should be enough surely?

Of course it is not only our club that are affected.
Every club is affected if the profile of the League is damaged, if left to your scenario players of every club could damage the leagues reputation with basically no comeback.
It is 100% the FA’s duty to ensure that players behave to a standard not detrimental to the overall product or its integrity, which the player will have agreed to within his contract and registration.
China already cost the NBA a lot of money because one of the clubs owners made a private comment about What was happening in Hong Kong, they could take same view here.

Can't see how this is racist. Why does everything have to be racist. He mentioned corona virus and pointed out a Chinese guy. Corana virus came from China so how is that racist. Just stupid

Maybe Chinese people don't automatically want to be connected to an illness anymore than African people and homosexuals want to be immediately associated with Aids.

When our Prime Minister has made actual racist comments; letter box and watermelon smiles without much retort It seems ridiculous to hold a footballer to a higher standard. Not that I think for one moment Dele was being racist

This is why I’m struggling to take it seriously. If it were a virus that had originated here and there was an Asian guy doing what Dele did to a white guy, would I think it racist? No I wouldn’t, I’d just think it childish.

I don't think Dele Alli is racist. I don't think that at all. But the joke was racist. And, unfortunately, pretty normal of the last few weeks. It wasn't intended to be racist and he has apologised. Move on don't do it again.
