Not saying you are, just saying that something must have changed. Maybe we left it too late

Or maybe he was never an option this window for whatever reason? According to reports he was offered to us and United but for some reason both clubs didn’t take up the offer. With United preferring Josh King....

I remember reading that his club wanted the deal completed by Thursday at the latest. We obviously thought we could get Giroud, or someone else, and therefore didn't proceed.

No idea do you?

Looks like the club Twitted something early this morning about no more players leaving.

Maybe we should have sorted it out the first week of the window rather than leaving it until the last?

We seem to be missing the point... is he actually worth signing? United are now after Igahlo. This is a guy Warnock wanted to sign. We need to take a step back and breath, a quality striker simply isn’t available this window. ighalo apaerntly wants and least £100k a week. Think about that.

judging by clips only he looked like he had the characteristics of a José striker, maybe not top class but possibly a good rotation option who would be an understudy to Kane.

Ok fair, do players usually adapt to the PL right away?

well that was why I thought of all the players we looked at he had the physicality to adapt quickly. Similar to Diego Costa

I just get the impression on here if we signed a striker tonight people would be over the moon... not actually caring if he was actually gonna be any good? Of all the names mentioned I don’t see any being any better than if we put Son up front. Of all the names mentioned Giruod is the only one I think could have done a job off the bat.

HIS CLUB HAVE SAID THEY DONT WANT TO LET HIM GO.

WHEN DID THEY DECIDE THIS? WAS IT THIS WAY FROM THE START? IF SO, THEN WHY WAS HIS NAME EVEN MENTIONED? COULD THEY POSSIBLY HAVE SAID THAT THEY "DIDN'T WANT TO LET HIM GO" TO SAVE FACE FOR HIM, THEM, ETC., RATHER THAN HAVING A POISONOUS "WANTAWAY" CONUNDRUM (A LA US WITH CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN)?

I smell a "The money we wanted for the player wasn't there" rather than a "He's too precious to lose!" situation.

The absolute fucking state of you.

Oh I'm sorry my anger upset you. In the future when the club does something patently absurd- perhaps next season we'll end up not having any goalkeepers, and then fail to get even one in when the January transfer window opens- I'll try to post all calm, measured and rational- like you. At least I'll try...

Anyway you're right-- my freakout was just totally out of order; not having even one first-team starting Striker in the squad for the second half of the season is completely natural and happens all the time. Silly me- I just got carried away; we're skint as a club- no money available at all, so there's that- and, also, we don't even really need a Striker! It's an overrated position, and with Lucas and Parrott we're well covered there anyway.

I was just having a moment-- please try and look past my temporary insanity; looking back, I don't know how on earth I could be upset that we got no one in at all, even on loan; I mean, surely when faced with the situation we're in, all top clubs would've done exactly the same thing as us: acquire absolutely no one. It's just the normal way of things.

Apology accepted.

Why the FUCK aren't we making this happen? Mou wants him, he wants to come, he's La Liga proven, would probably hit the ground running...and even if not-- even if he turned out to be absolutely fucking awful so what?!? We'd sell him back to Spain and take a 15 mil hit...yeah, and?!?!? At least we would've tried! At least we would've taken a relatively low money risk. And that's WORST CASE SCENARIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's where the guy comes to Tottenham and is Roberto Soldado MK II-level-awful-- which I don't see happening at all. And in that case-- IF that were to happen: who gives a fuck? So we flushed 15 million or so Quid down the Goddamn toilet-- so WHAT?!? We are among the most profitable clubs on the planet(!!!!!!)-- we have ZERO Strikers on our team for the entire second half of our season, at a time where we somehow someway happen to be sitting two measly fucking games out of top-4 and- with Harry Kane gone until probably next year- are dropping points left, right and center because we have a Grand Canyon-sized hole in the middle of our attack, one which could likely at least somewhat be plugged by THIS GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF it all went tits up and he ended up being the suckiest Forward since Janssen: SO WHAT?!?!?!?????? So we took a relatively small gamble and lost-- who the fuck cares??????!!??!?

And that's assuming it didn't work!!!!! What if-- as is far more likely-- an experienced, hungry, clearly talented pro came into our squad and did a solid job in the middle, occupying space and allowing the attacking players more freedom to roam and score?!? Literally-- WJ wouldn't even have to bag a ton of goals; rather, he would just need to be able to be tough, solid and creative-- hardly an impossibility for the guy in my eyes! We don't need a savior-- we need a cog-- and Mourinho wanted this guy to attempt to be that cog so why on earth didn't we just DO IT?!?!?

Sorry for the rant but seeing this guy's sorrowful video made my head explode. He just reeks of "player" to me. He has that fire in his eyes, would be around a plethora of Latin (Spanish speaking) teammates (so likely a lot less "He needs time to adapt"-type nonsense), would in all likelihood LOVE it here, his addition would be exciting for us all...I mean, I just...I can't...I don't...FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry but to my mind there is no-- and I mean ZERO-- reason why Willian Jose shouldn't be in the starting lineup on Wednesday night under the lights before an adoring crowd at our beautiful new stadium against Southampton. THIS ONE WAS DOABLE AND SHOULD'VE BEEN DONE. The money was/is negligible considering the bind we're in. I cannot fucking believe IN SOME WAYS what a shit joke club we are.

I couldn't care less that we got a CM and a Winger in: WE HAVE ZERO STRIKERS.

ZERO.

What other team in Premier League history can say this? Why do we do this? How on earth can we do some things so well and others so poorly that it's almost laughable? What top-ish team in Europe has zero Strikers?

Something is seriously off with Tottenham. Unbelievable.

Block caps, italics, bold, underlined, numerous exclamation points- this post has ‘em all!

Seems he’s going to Barca for €35m cos Dembele’s injury?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️

I really don't get why Sociedad would agree to this, particularly if the article is accurate (i.e. getting half the release clause, only one other recognised striker)
