I agree that it's not his age, and ironically Mourinho was faced with a very similar dilemma at Man Utd in Feb 2016 when they had a shortage of strikers and options up front and he gave Rashford his debut, if I recall in his second game he scored 2 goals against Arsenal.
Mourinho clearly thinks he's not ready, or felt that Rashford was more ready then that Parrott is now when Rashford was 18 and a half.
He felt that Tanganga was ready for a debut against Liverpool no less so I agree that it's not down to age.

It might pay off, and who knows he could score for us tonight, or it might backfire. Parrot's last start saw us going out on penalties to Colchester earlier this season after drawing 0-0 in 90 mins.

I know it's tempting but I would tend to agree that there's a valid reason why Pitch and Mourinho would be saying they don't or didn't think he was ready. He's been on the bench recently, and it would be odd if he wasn't on the bench tonight, given what options or lack of them we currently have.

Experts on here know more than mourinho who's with him every day and it's over of the greatest managers ever. All because he played for a poor international side

this is basically poch knows best all over again.

managers are in a position to make a more informed decision than us but that doesn't mean they're always right. jose also has responsibility for the player and the club so he has more to consider so that makes any decision more difficult but at the end of the day he's still just projecting what he thinks would happen, no one knows for sure how a player will do until they're given the chance to show it. poch didn't think tanganga was ready but what do you know, turns out he is.

On a positive note. Had a chat with someone who knows Robbie Brady and was training with him with Ireland. He said forget everything you’ve heard about how good he is, he’s better ?

What managers say and what they think aren’t always the same anyway. There has been so much hype around the lad I’m not surprised Poch (after the Edwards comments) and Mourinho don’t add to it. Even McCarthy has dampened the enthusiasm. Although he’s from Barnsley so everything sounds dour.

I don’t think McCarthy has really. He was very positive when he trained and gave him his debut over someone like Idah. All he said was if he’s not playing he can’t select him.

But not necessarily at Spurs. Would have preferred him to go on loan at Charlton and learn his trade rather than be impressed about contract talk. Again, keeping his feet on the ground.

Mentioning the Dortmund kids wasn’t taking issue with JM saying Parrott ‘isn’t ready’. More taking issue with people here suggesting that playing him now would be an irresponsible risk to his development from which he might never recover.

Clearly he’s not going to feature tonight or Saturday, but if he did and failed to set the world on fire no one’s going to get on his back.

All valid points but playing a game of football at international football for a bang average side isn't an indicator that he should play every week for one of the best football teams in the world which is what is the reason for some. I think he'll be great but I'd like to see him out on loan

We Yanks don't have a good understanding on Just did a little reading on
What does it matter what his friends dad does?

Just read up on Lee's father. He may be a fine young man, but the club has to be incredibly concerned with both Troy and Dele's fraternization with the son of what appears to be a prominent criminal in Ireland. You can't blame anyone for their family ties and wish Lee nothing but the best, but athletes do have a responsibility to the club and its image. I'm sure there is more to the story but I can't imagine the club not getting into the middle of this
