Bayern play some serious football, beautiful to watch, so much pace.

Bayern could have had ten tonight if they had better finishing. So one sided.

It sums up the quality of the Premier League when none of the English sides have won a game in the knockouts or scored a single goal so far.

But, but Liverpool are the greatest team to play the game and Klopps a genius of which the game has never seen before...it’s nothing to do with the level of the premier league this season

Interesting watching the German teams buy up young talent and then develop that talent. Bayern, Dortmund and lesser extent RB ...

Something we used to do, why'd we stop?

We mistakenly thought we had enough? Dele, Eriksen etc

In reality we should have maybe flogged high and nabbed some of these youngsters ripping it up for the teams you mentioned.

Vidal and Busquets both suspended, Pique limped off and might be injured.

Barca might be in trouble despite being at home in the second leg.

Europa League teams doing well though which is the other side of the argument people readily dismiss or forget about, it's not just about the CL teams.

Walker and Naughton, Lennon and Rose, Dawson and Reid (I know) as you say Dele, no idea if Clarke will ever live up to anything but we had a long list of players we brought in. Decent business model (controversial maybe) ...

Love to see us go back to that while at the same time identifying talent at key positions. Dream on I guess.

Really? Arsenal and United struggled against Greek and Belgian opposition and Wolves beat the bottom side in La Liga

Could say we have gone back to it last window. Gedson and steve are fairly similar purchases (given the increase in transfer fees). Young with potential. Unless you mean just English ones. I’ve a feeling Poch had a lot to do with it, we stopped buying young players under him.

Yeah, the winter window felt like they were targets and ones Jose was happy with. Youthful and as you say prices have obviously changed. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

The Europa league is absolutely terrible though.

You need to count both competitions if you're going to talk about the strength of the league even then both comps only really equate to about 30% of the entire league so it's not an easy comparison to make, that said where the EPL was head and shoulders above anyone else last season I think a couple of the Euro teams have dropped off slightly.

They both looked much better than their opponents, none of the teams won't have any bother getting through.

Lineker just said 'young' side as well.

Mount, James and Christensen. The rest of them are hugely experienced players.

Do love the revisionism given by these pundits to everyone but us.
Abraham is 22.

When I say terrible I mean the poor crowds, the terrible officiating, teams not selecting full strength teams. Plus I remember how terrible it got watching us in it. I don’t want to go back!

Didn’t English clubs contest both European finals last season?
