What do any of you think Poch would’ve done differently in this situation? We were 14th in the table, eliminated by Colchester in the EFL Cup, he’d allegedly lost the dressing room, we’d been on the backend of an absolute battering at home to Bayern, we’d only won once away from home in an entire calendar year and that was with a mostly fresh squad, nowhere near the level of injuries we have now.

I’m putting anyone on ignore who stupidly argues that he “deserved time”.

I think your missing the point. Poch has been sacked , it’s over with him.
The question now is whether Mourinho is the right man to spend millions to rebuild the squad and take us forward.

Due to the shit approach and general feeling that Mourinho is not a long term solution, I want us to start a fresh with someone new who plays good attacking football.

Mourinho has turned out to be what I expected but where I had hoped I would be wrong. In other words he is a spent force and a has been, with his best Management days behind him. He is basically playing this rubbish football on reputation as the game has evolved without him. We needed to let Poch go, but we did not need to let Mourinho in.

Hopefully it was pointed out that the 15m a year he’s being paid involves selecting the players to play rather than palming off the responsibility when it gets tricky

Probably along the lines of 'can you keep that sort of shit to yourself as we're trying to put bums on seats not tell people not to bother ffs!'
Something like that I reckon.

This is it for me.

Looking beyond the slick PR and easy charm, is the guy who elects to play a flat 4-5-1 at home to a shite Norwich team the man to rebuild this club?

With every passing game, I think it’s becoming more obvious that he really isn’t.

As a Spurs fan of 58 years I am familiar with a few disappointments. As a matter of fact my advice to newer Spurs fans is 'Welcome to a lifetime of nearlyness punctuated by the occasional actuality'. This is all cool. What I am struggling with at the moment is our side showing little or no intent to go out and win games. Obviously if you do try to do that, you may lose in the process, I have no problem with losing but struggle to watch us be dominated trying to play rope a dope, all the while. Liverpool Citeh Leipzig Chelsea all the same approach. I coach at the U18 schoolboy level, probably 1100 games since 83'...I would probably give it away if I ever sent out a side with zero attacking intent. Mourinho is by record one of the top five coaches around, he is not really an era builder...a couple of seasons and that will be that. That's why I was in favour of us in the window going after Bale recognising the short termism of it all. Not enjoying the nothingness at the moment...of course Levy must take his share of the blame but that is another story(n)

Funny that you mention revisionism and then say Poch never had these problems. We were a lot worse than what we are now.

To be honest, I completely disagree with everything you've just said. You say high press game was found out, yet most top teams continue to implement that tactic.
You demand respect for Mourinho, yet you disrespect everything done by Pochettino saying it was by luck. He gave us the best seasons since Bill Nic.

No Keith burkinshaw gave us our best seasons since bill nic. He won trophies, he won a European trophy. He won us 2 FA cups.

Poch finished 5th,4th,2nd,3rd 4th? Harry also technically qualified for the champions league twice. Although Chelseas win made it 1 appearance. However Harry did it first.

Do you disagree that we have been on an upward trajectory since arneson and jol?

Poch had the benefit of a pre season before starting. Disagree?

So he had it worse? He had sold ado and adebayor no? Also had the luck of Kane coming through? Disagree? That's 3 strikers.

Also. A prime young eriksen.

Do you think pochettinhos football was good in his first year? It was shit. Boring and much like avb's. Who I also backed.

So you disagree that poch has won nothing?

You disagree mourinho has won more himself as a manager than our intire history?

You disagree that our players all look fatigued and broken?

You disagree he lost the dressing room?

Get over yourself man. You claims are bogus. Go point by point what you disagree with and I'll pay you attention.

I liked poch and backed him. But he failed to win. In his career has won nothing. He joined a boat that was already sailing toward improvement for 10 years or so.

Most top teams don't press high, they press mid. Klopp himself changed from his ideal of a high press to a 2/3rds press. Allowing his forwards to remain fresh. There many documentaries on it and why his high press left a mess at dortmund.pep doesnt play it either rather a team press and momentary press.

The ball playing DM is the end of the press, and CMs that are comfortable and can slip the press. It's actually all the rage. Maybe you disagree with this too.

Just because you disagree with well let's call them facts. Doesn't mean you are right. Your bias and emotion is revealed. If you don't like mourinho that's your bag, but he does deserve respect. He has won things. He has won 2 eufa cups and 2 champions leagues. With 3 different clubs. He has won league titles in 4 countries Portugal, england, Spain and Italy. This is why mourinho deserves respect. He has earned it. Over and over and over and over again.

I didn't say everything poch done was luck. I said the champions league run was lucky. And getting out the group was lucky.

Let's talk again when poch wins his first trophy.

What is "intent to go out and win games" though? There's more than one way to do it and, last night at least, we would have comfortably won the game if individual players had managed to stick at least one of the three absolute sitters we wasted away - all better chances than anything Norwich created for all their alleged "dominance". The game plan created enough chances for us to win, easily.

jose was always going to split the vote but surely he must be judged on at least a full season and see where we are then. I really don’t like the divide amongst us on this subject but surely we can agree on that.

The only judgement should be after his first full season. What I don't understand, and I did like poch is people's memories. Jose took over the biggest loss tea. in the prem in 2019. And a team that hadn't won away in a year. Did we really want to stay on that ship? Let's give Jose a chance. I don't understand Jose causing a divide, that is all on us.

i think and I’m not trying to speak for fans but poch found a way into our hearts and it’s hard for some to let go. I wanted a change and I wanted Jose in, poch time was up and it was obvious, the players looked like they felt the same way too.

The squad is dead. It's going to take another window or two to sort this out. We were leaking goals while Poch was here and during Jose's first few games while playing attacking football. It seems Jose is trying to tighten up the defense. Let's give him a chance and see how it pans out. This is still not his team just yet. In all honesty looking at the football we played this year we don't deserve to be in the top 4, but would love it if we could sneak in. Season is a write off!!!

Some will do no such thing, I find it absolutely ridiculous that some fans won't give one of the most decorated managers in the game any sort of time, especially when you consider the state of our squad right now.
We had five years of fur coat and no knickers, we finally get a winner in and after 4 months some are trying to hound him out of the club.

It's like some fans dont want success.

Everybody wants success.

Jose has succeeded when backed. We have a chairman who has a track record of letting his managers down. Jose also almost always leaves clubs in chaos after starting internal battles as it is always about him. And now on to the actual football - it is awful, horrible to watch. The injuries are a convenient excuse. Sure they will have an affect, but we were playing shit before the injuries - we are outplayed by everyone we play. The players do not look like they are enjoying it either and yes I think it is fair that people expect more from Jose. The negativity and constant whining is embarrassing for one of the highest paid managers in the world. Despite all of this the biggest problem at the club is Levy.
