It's almost impressive how we've managed to time it so that almost our entire squad has turned to shit at exactly the same time. Has this ever happened before?!
I dunno but they look shot - mentally and in some cases physically.

To be fair we've looked unorganised whatever we've tried.
Mate I'm going back over the last couple of years, not just this season. People will say it worked against Barca, but we were just camped in our box and hit with very quick counters(with all our better attacking options fit.

Awful yes with little hope. The only thing that is keeping me going is the Spurs - Ajax second game thread at halftime (roughly page 85). There are quite a few parallel posts by the some of the same characters. And while Lucas did strike 3x, I can't imagine lightning to strike twice.

Awful. Just going through the motions.

The first goal they play a ball in down the channel, recycle it, and their players just have more desire to get there than ours getting back (Lo Celso and Sessegnon the worst offenders) to keep the attack going, get a shot in, Lloris has a howler.

The disallowed goal, again their man gets there ahead of Lamela getting back, and then contrast Aurier just jogging back whilst his man is steaming forward to get a cross in.

The 2nd is just comedy.

And then just in general every 2nd or loose ball or challenge we are coming off second best.

Tactically we're playing at about U7's level, particularly without the ball. Front three doing nothing, not pressing but not getting in behind the ball. The cm2 cant then just chase everything about when in no position to do so, they just get taken out of the game and even bigger gaps appear. And our defence has been no better, the two wingbacks awful in particular and we're unable to be ready and anticipate Leipzig dumping the ball down the channel for a runner as their stock ball time and again.

Injuries or not, that isn't good enough. Absolutely no professional pride or standards being shown so far tonight.

the problem with winks is he hasn't got a clue about the defensive side of the game, he just doesn't smell danger, he does nothing from an offensive perspective either, his ball retention is decent but that is literally his only asset, only way you can get away with him is if you play him as an 8 in a midfield 3 in my opinion

Winks is at best a squad player and even then it's mostly based on the fact he came through our academy.

He went with the 5 at the back and still hasn't changed it. Unreal level of mismanagement.

Only time we had a sniff against them in the first leg was with 3 in midfield.

So poor from Jose, and then some of the players as well, today.

We need a massive sell off and re build. Giving Toby a new contract was such a mistake. We need to get shot of these players. Not keep them.

Sell Winks, Dier, Lucas, Serge, Gazzaniga, Lamela, release Toby from his contract, let Jan and Vorm go for free. Rebuild the defense, sign a new keeper to compete with Hugo, sign a striker and an AM
Can't see us being able to shift Toby now.

Is the fact that we are being overrun and have no control in midfield due to playing 5 defenders Ndombeles fault again..?

?

I’m struggling to find any positives in this game. Maybe the only one is that after this game, there are less games (only only one comp left) to watch this team play so poorly before the season ends.

This has been a really forgettable season.

I've always said, Jose, Pep and most of these top managers can only win things with money. I remember when he was at Chelsea, I said get him to manage a team like Stoke and they would get relegated in the first season

Reminds of the Jason dozzell, David kerslake and bobby mimms season all over again, worst team I had seen in our history and this team is pushing them

Sessegnon looks absolutely lost.
He's another example of our pathetic scouting. Another player without grit or passion. Just a passive little leaf, blown away with the wind. He constantly looks like a deer in the headlights. Petrified of putting in a shift.

The last time we played well with 2/3 centre backs was the 16/17 season.

These defenders don't have the awareness for it anymore and it looks like their not communicating either.

This ref has clearly never heard of persistent fouling.
