Actually a fair point, this season just never got goingAppreciate your view but before Son and Kane got injured the football certainly hadn't got worse under Jose compared to the 20 games before he took over.

The new manager bounce has been proven to be statistical nonsense. The period often referred to as the 'new manager bounce'. The stuff after that was as bad as anything that preceeded it IMO.

Well you look at the upturn in results after a manager has taken over. Statistically they don;t do better.I was told many, many years ago that statistics could invariably be manipulated and used to support any given agenda. I've seen nothing throughout the rest of my life to disprove that theory.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the bundesliga starting up. Me and some lads are doing Zoom watch alongs of the Saturday games, with beers and bar snacks.
The football is what I miss the Neville / Carrager / Souness chit chat is banal and predictable in the extreme just as Sherringham was on today and my thought was " how long before he starts the Kane must leave spurs agenda " as it is I did not have to wait long .
I was tuned in for a few minutes and then he was at it . It may or may not be true that Kane will have to leave to win medals but for myself I do not need the likes of Sherringham trying to push him in the direction of wanting his way out of spurs .
Completely agree. I’m sure when Spurs are back on TV I’ll watch our games. What I don’t miss one bit is the circus of everything else that goes with football. I couldn’t care less about the transfer rumour mill, the embarrassing “will they, won’t they” of whether the season will restart, constant news articles of uneducated, entitled young men acting like uneducated, entitled young men during lockdown, etc etc.
I miss cricket and tennis far more.
I'm dreading it coming back more than missing it.
Brilliant post and v similar to me. I’m a die hard spurs AND football fan and what this time has reinforced for me is that the entertainment of the matches and of my team are so important to my love of the game which is why I’m particularly worried about Jose as his football is just turgid and negative and worst of all I don’t even think that style of play is likely to be successful now as it dowant consistently work well vs high press aggressive possession dominant teams. Not as much as I maybe thought I would, its actually been quite interesting to test/experience. In regards to the sport itself, I've missed watching 'good', or at least interesting, football. Spurs come under neither category at the moment, so I haven't missed watching us one bit, in all honesty.
If anything my views have hardened. I've said before on here that I watch football primarily for entertainment purposes, judged to my tastes and criteria and ideas as to how the game should be played. I enjoy, and watch, for the Process (ie. the actual 90 mins of the game, which makes up 99.99999998% of the time you spend watching) as much as the Outcomes (goals, wins, trophies), and cant separate or overlook one as long as the end result is in our favour.
I'm far too invested in football and Spurs by now to ever give it up, but If I'm going to choose to devote hours of my life watching (and then discussing...) this sport each week, then I have expectations. It's been said before many times that I am overly critical, maybe so, well I'm going to go onto another level when it returns believe me. I'm just not going to mess around, if I think its good I will say so. More likely if its crap to watch I'm going to say it. Week after week if needs be, win 5-0 or lose 5-0. I'm going to trash those involved and advocate change more often - players, coaches, etc - quite probably.
Bring it on.....
Good on you. If you can stick out this exile from Spurs, you’ll add a few years to your life and be happier for it.Cancelled my NOW TV and BT Sports subscriptions today, and also cancelled my DD for automatic One Hostpur membership renewal. I'm out. Y'all can buy me a beer when we inevitably go on to win the league next season immediately after I've given up on football. You're welcome.
Good luck mate unfortunately there will be no beers bought, as we are not winning the league but I do understand your frustration.Cancelled my NOW TV and BT Sports subscriptions today, and also cancelled my DD for automatic One Hostpur membership renewal. because of covid and the games having no fans or atmosphere or because levy/enic are profit before glory so we're stuck in a never ending spell of one step forwards two back?Cancelled my NOW TV and BT Sports subscriptions today, and also cancelled my DD for automatic One Hostpur membership renewal. Lots of contributing factors, but the tl;dr version is that I've found I've been happier during the covid-19 enforced break from football (the games themselves, and the continuous football-related bullshit on non-match days) than I was before this all kicked off. Came to the realisation that, on a net basis, football makes me more miserable in aggregate than it makes me happy, even during these last 10 'good' years (relative to my first 15 years of watching Spurs from 1995-2010), so I reason that I'm better off without football in my life.because of covid and the games having no fans or atmosphere or because levy/enic are profit before glory so we're stuck in a never ending spell of one step forwards two back?
