Yeah very odd. If someone told me that by this stage of the season Lo Celso would only have 7 league starts and 0 goals or assists I'd assume he'd been a massive flop. Yet bizarrely, having watched him, I probably would pick him as our player of the season.

If he can avoid injury I think next season will be his real breakthrough. Many of our best players in recent years like Modric, Bale, Eriksen and Son all took a year to find their feet and reach their true level and I think Lo Celso (and hopefully Ndombele) will be the same.
I see this alot and don't get it. He's been good the second half of the season but Sonny is much more deserving thus far.

Precisely. Don't want to downplay the glimpses of real talent we have seen from Gio, but it's from such a small amount of contribution as he's played so few games thus far. Other players like Son have contributed more consistently in a greater number of games

Tbh the only reason I wrote 'probably' is because of Sonny, who has had a good season.

If we were looking at things on a purely objective level Son has to win for his goals and assists alone. However, in the 2nd half of the season Lo Celso has been our best, brightest and most important player in pretty much every game he's played. He's the heartbeat of the side and we look so much worse without him. That's why he's my player of the season.

Part of it is because it's been fucking ages since we had a new signing come in and hit the ground running, injuries aside.

We bought two number eights in the summer and it's clear who the better player is.

Lo Celso is a CM. A good one, especially for a leftie. The ITK suggested that he wanted a move so he could take an AM role. If we can persuade him to stay at CM, we’ve got a gem. Feels good to me tonight.

Quality second half from GLC, grew into the game and looked very sharp even late In The game. Will be a huge player for us.
