OK here's yet another thread while we await some ITK.

I suspect it won't be long in coming but you never know.

Meanwhile, have a song

Tottenham Pie

A long, long time ago
I can still remember
How the football used to make me smile

And we knew that we had a chance
To win a trophy, to make us dance
And we knew we'd be happy for a while
But now our owners make me shiver
With every transfer they deliver

Bad news on the deal front
Just sign someone you bald ****
I can't remember if I cried
When I read about the deal that died
Something touched me deep inside
The day the transfers died

Bye, Bye Mr Tottenham Pie
Burkinshaw walked out you know that man didn't lie
singing that was when the football club died
that was when the football club died

And then suddenly we had a team
And all us fans began to dream
But things aren't always as they seem
But we all were rather happy for a while

Out of the blue it all cracked
Was our manager truly backed
i think not and that's a fact
The day, the football club died

So

Bye, Bye Mr Tottenham Pie
Pochettino he was sacked, so sad and bye bye
singing that was when the football club died
that was when the football club died

Meh

PEH is Jose's #1 choice. The line I got was JM fully understands our financial position (knows what he can spend) and has cut his cloth accordingly as far as targets are concerned.

This means this window should be easier than when Poch was here, and Levy has little room to escape criticism should we not get a good chunk of what JM wants done.

I'm with my contact and his son all day today so might get a few bits as the day goes on. I'll try to post if I can(signal permitting) as we're out on the briney all day.

Cheers for the info Trix.

The news about PEH is not surprising given all the links in the media already, but I trust JM's judgement and if that's the DM he wants I hope Levy delivers.

Even if they are not the names some want to see linked, an actual cohesive plan if delivered, will still out is some way forward.
Good to hear there is a clear plan.

Have to assume that Levy knew exactly what he was going to get with Jose so if he doesn't deliver on realistic targets then José will let it be known in public that he hasn't been backed.
Plus with José's contacts in the game he is likely to find out why a negotiation was not successful so that would limit Levy's excuses as well.

Huge few months ahead, if José gets what he wants for the first time Im actually starting to be optimistic for what can be done with him in charge.

As long as Jose knows what he can spend and is happy with working within that, I think we'll have a decent window. I just hope (probably a bit too optimistically) that we can get most of our business done quickly so the new signings can have time to bed in for the shortened off-season.

Get PEH in before preseason and that’ll be a great start to the window, biggest hole in the squad and Jose’s #1 target sorted

If Jose wants Hojbjerg, Hojbjerg wants us and it's within the budget, there's really no excuse for not getting this one done early doors.

Not surprised by that update. And the interesting bit is that Jose is going to be more willing to accept realistic targets where Poch obviously wasn't.

Music to my ears that. Mourinho no mug and isn't going to cut his nose off to spite his face.

The positive thing about Jose being pragmatic is if he tells a player that isn't in the elite that he can get him there, surely they'd feel wooed. We've already got lots of elite players. Now we need the functional ones to keep things moving. As has been said before, if PEH works for Jose then I'm happy. I've been excited about signings before, this window I'd prefer a more muted emotional response in exchange for a squad without glaring holes in it.

I wanna be out on the briney all day ?

I think PEH is ideal for us, a big part of what we’re missing in midfield. If he’s Jose’s #1 target, and for the very gettable price, we should be aiming to wrap this up ASAP. I wanna see him in that new awful kit we have.

It would be great to get signings done early for one.

Cant see anything happening with Hojbjerg until after the weekend, but he has already had his head turned so who knows.

It seems like the fee being mentioned is a realistic one for us as well so let's hope we get a manager's #1 target for a change!

Get it done and get it done early. Will be important for him to get in and for Jose to instill his methods and tactics in him. He’s experienced enough in the prem that he could really hit the ground running.

It’s good to hear the Jose is realistic about what we can spend too. We might actually see holes in the squad being filled, rather than aiming for unrealistic signings and leaving ourselves short.
