Really pleasantly surprised at the results post lockdown. I told mates I thought eighth would be amazing in February considering how bad we had been.
I now have to eat humble pie and take my hat off to the coach and players. much improved and a surprisingly good finish. Cannot. believe we finished above Wolves and I was at the lane when there beat us - could never see us finishing above them then.

Weird positive, but I'm glad we got into 6th with a draw - I'd have been gutted if we finished within touching distance of 4th. Strange, I know, but 7 points is far off enough to not be all "If only in that one game..."

Also ending on a rubbish performance will hopefully give some leverage to say that the squad needs attention.

You must be very young...

I'm 30. I suppose I should have added the caveat that it's been shit because of the polarity of getting the CL final last season and the relevant expectations compared to say, the late 90's early 00's.

I think we're going to "solidify" our spot as a Europa club the next few years. With the football we're playing and our rumored targets I don't see how we take a big jump to overtake Chelsea or ManU anytime soon.
really dont know. Ndombele and LoCelso come good plus a couple of defenders and we are a good side. Not going to worry about it tho. Tomorrow is a new day.

We were 14th when Poch was sacked. In more danger of relegation than European qualification.

We are 6th now at the end of the season confirmed of Europa. How much more could one want?

We were 3 points off 5th when Poch was sacked.

You make a good point. No need to over-egg it.

Job done. At the start of every season in the last few years I always seen the CL qualifying spots as being 2 or 3 positions with 4 or 5 competitors. Coming 6th can happen to any of those 4 teams and it wouldn't be a surprise. Coming 6th just feels much better than 7th, we are a top 6 side and to finish there really helps maintain the feeling that we are.

That was yet another awful display but no doubt the excuse monkeys will be out in force to defend it.

He's got more time again to think, preseason to sort out his formation, style of our play and personnel to turn us into winners. He is not being paid £15m odd to make us also rans whilst playing dog shit football, he must deliver success and turn us into winners at the highest level (PL/CL). I won't hold my breath...

meh, end of season games are always weird, and if you are competing for something, rarely good matches. would be strange to judge anything on it. there was a bit of pressure and we did the job. Nothing more to say.

Wasn't a good performance, but who really cares, we got the job done.

Got what we needed, and for a pretty disastrous season (losing a beloved manager and failing to build on a CL Final) its been a decent finish with 6th and a likely Europa League place.

Lot of work required over the break in the transfer market and on the training pitch in terms of our on the ball play.

Great goal today but little to write home about after. We did close the game out pretty comfortably in the end and defended well overall in open play.

Some positive energy to take into next season for the lads anyway. Few good transfers and a clean slate and it could be a decent season for us.

Tottenham are guaranteed a EL place. However, should Wolves win the EL Spurs would have to play a 2nd round qualifier instead of going straight into the group stage.

Another poor performance especially in the 2nd half. Simply didn't do enough when we had the ball.

The match was a microcosm of us since the restart...good points tally but garbage football. That said, under Poch, I believe we were heading for a catastrophe so kudos to Jose for coming in and getting us European Football.

Context is needed, 3 points of 5th/14th place or whatever we were not looking anywhere near good enough.

Not sure we've "looked anywhere near good enough" since tbh. But we are where we are and hopefully next season Mourinho can kick us on.
