Son Heung-min's incredible solo effort against Burnley back in December was voted as Match of the Day's Goal of the Season on Sunday night.

Not sure about anyone else but I thought this was the worst goal of the season I've seen on MOTD.

Bias aside, I'm surprised. Great individual skill/goal, but allowed by a passive Burnley defence. Goal of the Season, to me, is normally something that ends up as balanced for both. Can't necessarily think of any others this season though, the lockdown has confused me

One of the more easier goal of the seasons to pick in recent years. Very rarely is a goal like that scored.

De Bruyne's second was pretty tasty.

But Sonny all the way. From almost in his own box. You just don't see goals like that very much any more.

My favourite goal of the season for Spurs where I have re watched dozens of times, so fitting it is also the best in the Premier League. @Shadydan the Burnley defence was not static, it was that Son was to quick for them!

Sorry @Shadydan , quoted the wrong post. My comments should have been directed at @sausage :(

I did say they were static, I said they were passive. I think it was Pieters and Hendrick who made half-hearted attempts to get the ball. After all, there wasn't really any dribbling past any players as such, he just sprinted all the way down the pitch as their players jumped and fell out of the way.

As I say, great individual skill/goal, but Burnley were shocking that day and for that passage of play, so it takes the shine off for me. I sort of like goal of the season to be 'unstoppable' stuff that's all.

I agree with all that but I was just bigging up Son's run ala Bolt!

Son on his day is the closest to Greaves I've seen in a Spurs shirt in a long time. Not an out and out striker but gets his fair share of goals in a similar fashion.

We complain about the ones that got away, that we failed to sign for whatever reason, sometimes with justification, sometimes not, but signing Son cannot be viewed as anything other than one we got right.

Surprised that the BBC awarded one of our players this seeing as a number of people on here persist with the viewis that they are biased/have an anti-Spurs agenda

Voted by the public, not the BBC.

Public vote top 3 then the MOTD panel pick the winner. Anything other than Son would have been clear Anti-Spurs. The goals to choose from didn’t even look good enough for Goal of the month.
