The popular Belgian has left Tottenham Hotspur after eight years and now he and the club must look to the future.

Sunday marked the final day in the Tottenham Hotspur playing career of Jan Vertonghen. The 33-year-old Belgian watched from the bench as his eight years at the club came to a close, a period during which he became one of the finest defenders in Europe.

Great player for us! There was at least one occasion was he was our player of the season!

There were games where he was the best player in the world in his position when it was not his position he was that good!

i will never forget the dortmund game!

So nice seeing Verts in action tonight. He really was our Rolls Royce. Wish we could find a 24 year old version of him now.
