Is Matt Doherty 6ft? Could be the third RB being alluded to by the Dragon ITK.

Between Klostermann, Doherty, Celik, Castagne & Aarons, you’d have to think one of Castagne/Celik are certs as they’d be cheaper options.

The other three would be on a different level price wise. If we sell Serge, you would like to think we could get two in, considering we only spent 3m on PEH.

I’m Irish so I’d love if Doherty was a goer.
Doherty has been in the ever growing frame for a few days now, so I really don't see the point or need for all this ' 6 feet' nonsense. Well, that applies to anyone in my view. What next, their foot size?
Matt Doherty is by far the best RB linked on my opinion. Proven, top PL performer.

The more I think about it, the more Doherty makes sense. Jose clearly really likes this lopsided back 4 with Davies tucking into a 3 and the RB playing as an auxiliary winger at times. Doherty would be more at home in that role than as just a straightforward RB.

On top of that he's PL proven, tall and scores/assists plenty. Still can't see Wolves selling him to us though. Not for the kind of fee we'd be willing to spend anyway (unless they want to cash in while he still has value).

Signing 2 RBs also makes a lot of sense. 1 attacking player who would act as more of a RWB (ala Gedson yesterday) and one more conventional defensive RB for when we need better protection who, ideally, could also cover at LB.

Spurs don't buy players like this

Doherty is 6ft1.

He'd by my first choice by a country mile. Not a Levy signing but a JM signing all day long - physical, prem proven, extremely productive in final third.

Maybe that Jose has been realistic, generally speaking, so far will see Levy go for a player in his prime.

I've no doubt if we sign this guy we'd have a very, very good season.

PEH and this guy transforms our team imo.

Wonder if Wolves would be interested in any of our players ie Lamela.

levy won't go for a player in his prime ... as you say not a levy signing

But he might if JM can convince him of the immediate impact.

I agree its unlikely but this is Mourinho we're talking about here. Massively influential and respected personality.

Only way we spend on a top player (£30m+) is if we sell Ndombele for £40m+ and I don’t see that happening. ITK’s should know this and know anything they hear otherwise would be false rumors.

Nothing groundbreaking. But have to lay some dreams to rest. We will NOT be signing big money players! Not even 30m! Funds not free for that! Only way we spend that kind of money is if we sell TN. And that is nowhere near happening, as much as he wants out. And DL now prepared to get his money back. As things stand, no serious takers.

Gedson is highly, highly rated by Josè. It was all his work and negotiating to get him on such a remarkable long loan deal. And may I add again it is nowhere near the reported figures I am reading! Josè believes this year he will kick on, and continue to develop. As I said before, last year he was considered one of Portugal’s special talents. So give him time. Pleasantly surprised will be the chorus. He is highly rated here, and also by the players.

too many irons in the fire to call out specific targets as ‘happening deals’. Creative negotiations going on. As stated before, press not far off what they are printing.

Not good news about TN, had always hoped it was his entourage pushing but seems he wants out himself ☹️

Not really a surprise is it?

A young player in a new country under a different manager than the one that signed you. Some players will get through it, others won't.

Promising info on Gedson. I’ve struggled to really understand what position he plays but thought he looked very good yesterday.
Less good on Tanguy but if he doesn’t want to be here and Jose doesn’t want him either, there’s really only one solution. However, that doesn’t quite fit with ‘DL prepared to get his money back’ because I can’t see anyone willing to pay that, especially in this climate.
I really hope we’re not in for another season of him taking up a non HG spot & collecting huge wages whilst barely making the bench. Not just for our own sake but the lad is wasting his talent and is in his prime playing years. If the stories are true and it’s all silly buggers, laziness & fallouts, he’ll regret it for the rest of his life.

So we aren't selling TN, and he doesn't want to be here, great. So sounds like it will be the same with him as last season, what a waste
