"No honey, I swear, it's all a big misunderstanding. I was merely thanking my favourite Spurs fan forum's resident information hunter (aka whore), Dovahkiin (Dov for short), for scouring other Spurs fan forums for tit-bits of information known as ITK, which stands for In-The-Know, wherein they share their insider knowledge on the club's transfer dealings to us fans. Simple really. :angelic:"
I think saying that would make things worse as it sounds like the ramblings of a mad man!

I think the idea of getting a striker in for these 9 September games is being overblown a bit. Yes Mourinho and all of us don't think Lucas or Son are strikers, but could they be strikers against League 1 sides in the Carabao or in the Europa Qualifying round? Absolutely! We could easily rotate Son, Kane and Lucas up front over the games and rotate Lamela, Sess, Bergwijn, Gedson and whoever of Son/Lucas isn't up top on the wings.

The signings this summer all point to a strategy of buying pragmatic players that fit roles and offer something different to the squad without breaking the bank or compromising us in the future (either by wages, filling non-HG spots with players that won't feature etc.). Splashing over the odds on Wood/King just for a few games doesn't fit this model. I think that could be why no ITK (outside of D1) and Ally Gold are hinting at those players. Let's wait and see what shakes out.

I'm sorry, but have you watched much of Spurs in the cups in recent years?

Not just that but we want to rest them too. Just because they can be shifted out of position doesn't mean we should, it ultimately hurts the team more in the long run.

Every club probably has a back up to their main striker outside of their starting XI, why do we think we can be different?

Yes I have, and do I think spending £20mil on King/Wood is suddenly going to get us through any more than our current squad? No.

They would be very nice squad options at £10-£15mil, but Trix said we were after more favourable options. I think a higher quality signing that becomes available in late September/October would help us to better push for top 4 and rotate in any competitions we may have through the year.

What I'm saying is you don't make a signing just for 9 games, you make them for 2-4 years. It doesn't fit the model to throw money after those names mentioned, and I think that's could be why Trix and other ITK are saying they aren't priorities at the prices quoted.

Anyway I'm being hypothetical so going to shut up. Cheers for all the info the last few days, excited as to what's round the corner!

if your wife saw this......

she'd be delighted he was thankful for her.

I really don't want Ndombele to go despite how unlikely it is he'll come good. I just can't see her getting someone else with his potential. (added to try and avoid ban)

He stays unless we get the 42 back , Jose wants rid but dL is firm on that

the buyer is inter but they are not at that level yet , this part is just speculation on my part I just wonder if we take players to get to the number the defender or Eriksen back etc

We also have ITK (from Dragon I believe) that King can get done at 10M. At some point you give them a "take it or leave it now" ultimatum, and move on to the next target. I'm not saying King/Wood need to be the chosen ones, or that we shouldn't spend 20M on an appropriate striker, only that we need to move on this and have someone to help take some of the workload off of Kane & Son so that we're not relying on others to fill their shoes who have been proven can't do the job (Moura/Dele).

This Eriksen idea reads entirely like opinion. Really hope people don't get too worked up over it. But that might be wishful thinking...

I'd be amazed if we got a bid anywhere near what Levy would think acceptable for Ndombele. Think we might end up having to loan him first.

Vidal is basically already signing for Inter and Ndombele is about as polar opposite a Conte player you can get so I'm really not sure why that link is persisting, it seems more like a board signing than a Conte signing

We're trying to sell him, have an interested buyer, according to the latest info, but it doesn't mean its inevitable a deal will get done.

Levy will be looking most of that money back, if not all, and despite his talent he's hardly given himself a glowing image in the past 12 months.

A lot of hurdles to overcome for this to get sorted out.

Seen this mentioned a lot - most notably by Alasdair Gold - and while we all know that's exactly what Levy is like, i do think (and very much hope) that given what a complete w@nker N'Dombele is being, coupled with the obvious financial situation we are currently in, then getting rid asap for a slightly reduced fee is better than risking being stuck with him (and his worth depreciating even further). Will be interesting to see how Levy handles this.
