I think and hope we've moved on from him now. I'm far from convinced in him due to injury concerns, the fact he seems to miss sitters quite regularly (despite having a good record) and that he seemed to be messing us around chasing Juventus.

This makes sense in so many ways!
- We don't get a striker until next summer.
- Napoli makes no money for an expensive asset.
- Milik gets to spend a year frozen out of the squad.

I’m going to get some stick for this but going to say it anyway...
could this be a situation where the club has one eye on Kane leaving next summer so will try and get one striker in now and then a Milik type character on a free in Jan so we are a bit more prepared?

That did cross my mind but I'd prefer not to think about it.
Also if we were to sell Harry next summer we should be aiming higher than Milik given we'd surely earn £100 million +.

I didn’t like the thought to be honest but we know if we had that money we’d be rinsed in any talks for a striker so trying to get a body in already. Esp If (Massive 20ft high IF) Levy is wantingto pull the trigger on Bale deal.

You'd hope he'd physically move at that point, because I'm not sure him being here spiritually or any other way would do us any favours.

I suspect something as derisory as this is to put pressure on Napoli for bullet point #2. Though I agree this might be the worst deal imaginable from a footballing POV, perhaps maybe even the worst deal in the history of trade deals

Agreed. I would not be surprised if that would be his wages if we would be able to buy him already this window.
Especially as the €5m a year figure adds up to less than what we paid Llorente.

We aren't offering pre-contract next summer for striker and not sure what enterataining the idea of Bale has to with Kane.
