Even though the most tabloid tabloids ain’t the most reliable when it comes to transfer rumours, it kind of worrys me that they don’t write about Bale coming home.. This is negotiations only Trix and us here at S.C. know about. A top secret deal purely for the underground to know about..???

I'm sure if it does come out in the press, it'll be because a deal is close to actually being agreed - we'll want to keep this super under wraps to avoid anyone coming in and trumping our offer. Unless Madrid decide to leak it, of course.

The only thing that makes me think there’s even the slightest possibility of his is the previous Enic models at other clubs they’ve owned where the pattern has been build the stadium, invest to win the league within 2 years, and sell for huge profit. There’s that feeling that as a one off investment if, just if, it was enough to go from top four challenge to title push it might allow the heart to overrule the head.

Surely signing Bale will generate more money for the club than the cost to sign / pay him.
Nope, he's much less of a draw than Sonny is or Alex Morgan will be. Bale is not a player with global appeal anymore (if he ever was) so whilst he may shift a few thousand extra shirts most of that money goes to Nike. He's not going to lure sponsor nor is he going to generate new interest in the club that would make us more attractive to new brands.

Hope he wasn’t watching today, otherwise him and his agent might put the do not disturb function on their phones.

After watching that today, I think wing is the absolute last position we need. Striker, creative midfielder, left back, CH, DM all bigger priorities.

Just bite the bullet on this one. James Rodriguez today was proof enough that quality is permanent, no matter how much you've played recently

I disagree with you all. It's not about positions. Getting a somewhat decent midfielder or left back is not going to change the team. Getting one of the best players in the world would.

The gamble is whether Bale can be the player he used to be. IF he is, he would take us to another level. I don't think we would have lost today with the Bale of old in the lineup.

Hopefully that means Levy's wobbly, uncertain finger slams down on the trigger with purposeful might lol.

He’s a quality player. And this side needs more of that, desperately. Get it done, Levy.
