It's ok talking about bringing Bale back, but that's all about making season 2 of the documentary exciting, making us more attractive to Amazon and, by extension, America. It's exactly the same with the Alex Morgan signing.

But back in the real world, and on the actual pitch we could really, really do with a midfield first. And not just the players on Jorge Mendes' books either ?

Grealish could play in a three, AM, point is he'd bring us a lot more creativity
Totally different type of player compared to Sancho.
I agree with both of what you said above but it doesn’t mean Utd won’t be interested and even if they weren’t I think there would be more attractive propositions than us for him to consider. I like Grealish but it’s academic because it doesn’t appear we are interested in him.

We have zero creativity.

Since Eriksen left (and in his last months too) we have nobody who can dictate play. Nobody who is truly comfortable on the ball and can play quickly with their head up. We need playmakers. We need FOOTBALLERS. We have athletes.

We boiught Lo Celso to do this but so far he looks like he will be more of a grafter for us. Capble of flair, but more a Lamela vs Eriksen type of player.

For years we always said we needed another playmaker to fill in for Eriksen when he was injured as we really struggled to create in games without him. Instead of finding that critical second creative spark, we now have none.
Ndombele is the one. I really hope he proves the doubters wrong including me!

I didn't see it listened on the radio but it seemed to me that Everton had Allan to break it up and give it to Rodriguez to make the passes to set the forwards off and Doucoure up and down supporting both of them and linking with the forwards, that was their midfield. I'm really not sure we have that blend.

That sounds so easy doesn’t it. Why didn’t we buy the players for a midfield that needs all of that in abundance. We haven’t had it for ages.

Dele, Davies, Sissoko, Winks (hate to say it), Lamela...

ALL HAVE TO GO!

Spurs WILL NOT progress if they're still starting/playing for this club.

Question:
You start the game with six defensive players. The most creative of these has to go off at half time. You have Bergwijn, Ndombele and Lamela on the bench. Who do you bring on?
Answer:
Moussa Sissoko. Obviously.

No obvious paln of how to attack.
No organised pressing of the ball.
No service to Kane.
No creativity.
No goals.
No points.
No fucking idea.

Tanguy Ndombele. Misplaced a few passes and was playing (instructed to?) too deep. But he brought energy and was at least looking for, and able, to play a forward pass.
Has. To. Play.

Yeah, this in a nutshell.

I'm just fed up of seeing insults against people who dare post anything negative. Same as all the "bedwetter" comments.
Exactly this. Sick and tired of those who contribute nothing to the match thread only to pop in and post some sarcastic bullshit comment about how we're all babies or bedwetters etc and then you hear fuck all else all match from them.

The idea that we've had a good window because we've signed players in positions we needed is such pretentious clap trap. The difference between the good teams and the rest is star quality. We've bought absolutely zero since Son and Toby, 5 years ago.

There was a time when you could make a very valid argument, for any of Lloris, Verts, Toby, Rose, Walker, Dembele, Son, Eriksen and Kane, for being the best player in their position in the league. Imagine trying to argue with Utd, Cheslea or Pool fans that Davies, Holjberg, Sissoko, Ali, Winks, Lucas, Dier or Toby etc are the best in the league in their positions!

fuck me that is a depressingly accurate post

Only positive I can take from the second half was Ndombele trying to make things happen and looked more eager to play. Let’s hope he can progress from here as we need all the creativity we can get. Lo celso isn’t enough.

Yeah he's getting some shit, and I can see why but literally the first thing he did was drive a quick forward pass into Kane's feet

Peh, and winks were just awful garbage for 45 mins playing the ball sideways and backward killing any type of attack
Then you have sissoko, Jesus wept!

Everyone else seems very happy to abuse our entire team and management for one bad half after a bizarre pre season
So that makes it OK? And clearly not everyone. I think any abuse is wrong.

Man do you see the bullshit of your post?

Any organised team with a half-decent coach will see that, prepare for it and nullify it. Which is what Ancelotti and Everton did today.

Where did Anchelloti finish last season? It's hyperbole after one game, and its fucking embarrassing.
Seriously? Your argument is 'where did Ancelotti finish last season?'?

My point is that - after the thirty-odd games that Mourinho has been here - we still have no plan of how to attack apart from 'hit it long' and that it is easy to stop us doing it; and you ask where Ancelotti finished last season?

Fuck.

Well that’s down to perception. One might say negative and another would say constructive criticism. I personally don’t like it when fans boo our players when they’re playing bad. Although I get frustrated when I see player we hyped up before a transfer not deliver but they’re human and will make mistakes like the rest of us (which is what I’m sure the original poster is doing)
I’ve been on here long enough to say that a non football loving person would easily section around least 90% of us on here citing bipolar disorder lol

Things can change but that was reminiscent of the start of the Ramos and AVB sacking seasons. Listless, lacking any ideas. This cancer is so deep-rooted at the moment it’s deeply disturbing.

Maybe were watching the game instead of trying to get in the "I told you so bullshit", I will tell you something its much easier to be hyperbole than be level headed and see the bigger picture. We are supporters to be supporters of our club.

I have been around the game a long time and have seen first hand when players stop enjoying their football. The mood takes over the dressing room and can be compounded when players come back from international breaks. They talk with their international teammates about training, what it is like to play for the club manager and it becomes mentally hard to raise their game every time especially when chasing from behind.

Playing for Klopp, Bielsa, Lampard, Pep, Ancellotti, Rodgers and Ole would be more exciting for me right now than playing for Jose. It has to be the same for some of our players. You have to enjoy playing for your team and your manager and we have a lot of good players who could fall into that category.

Think about your job and when you don't like your boss. Are you motivated to do your best? Probably not. This is a job to the players and they approach it the same way. They want to enjoy it and they don't seem to be enjoying playing for the manager judging by the majority of performances since he came in.

This is a group of players who see themselves as top four players and they are not playing top four style football. They are being asked to play in a manner better suited to relegation threatened and mediocre international teams.

I want him to be successful but Mourinho has some issues to address.
But you have to take responsibility of your own performance, regardless of who’s sittting upstairs and then demand more from your peers If they aren’t providing the level i oh f commitment you are. The movement up front was .. well rubbish . Disgraceful really .
