The football is bad to watch but in fairness to Mourinho, we were 4th best team since he took over last season. So things aren’t THAT desperate. It is, however, a worrying start.
Stats can be misleading. There is something not right with the club. Whether it’s the players, or Mourinho not dealing with the mess he was left, or Levy, but nothing has got better. We still look as lifeless, blunt, and defensively soft as we did in Poch’s final games.

Last season he had us 4th based on points from when he came in, despite huge injury problems. I expect us to be doing better than that to be honest, but I don't see any evidence that we're headed for mid-table beyond literally just the opening match.

Misleading stat as every other club around fell apart during the same period (thank god).

Fan bases have no patience is basically it, we were never gonna compete long term at the old White Hart Lane, the club long term is more than a generational thing. the problem we have is in society as a whole we want everything NOW, NOW, NOW. Could we get a billionaire owner who splashes the cash of course buts its not guaranteed.
I am not personally expecting a deluge of trophies. But I think levy was by signing Jose. What I do expect as a spurs supporter is at least an attempt at attacking progressive football. We are just abject defensive twaddle, yes that is hyperbolic. Sue me.

Can blame Jose all you want but the reality is that about 8/9 players in our starting XI are bang average or worse.

See no reason to expect us to finish anywhere near top 4.

Then paying Mourinho 15 million a year would appear to be a colossal mistake. Why invest in a tier 1 manager when you have a tier 4 squad?

Surely the money would be better spent investing in the squad?

We’ve basically sacrificed on field quality for facilities and this is the result. I don’t think we’ve seen the worst of the decline yet either.

Yep, we thought we'd finally begin to see the upside after years of frugality but Covid has put the brakes on that. Squad has been stagnating for a while and I can't see much investment coming any time soon to fix it.

What’s the difference from this teams performance at the end of poch time. To now no body gave a shit. Everton was passing the ball in there box. Like prime Barcelona and we just watched. Except there not prime Barcelona just playing simple passing we just watched no fight

Hyperbole - "exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally"

Most people saying the team is shit, Jose is shit, Levy is shit, after one game? Or wait, should I be taking these statements literally... again, after one game?
To be honest we were not very good before todays game. Our play today was no different than it has been in the last few months. It's just that it's a new season and our hopes were high but this squad is not good enough to win trophies. What top side would have players like Sissoko, Davies, Aurier and sad to say (a previous favourite of mine) Winks and Deli in their side.
Jose was not my choice but it's not all his fault or in fact any manager we might bring in. The root of the problem was not buying the right player or two each season to strengthen the squad over recent seasons when we were starting to move up the same way Liverpool and City have.
I thought this would be a difficult season based on our current squad before todays game. Today only reinforced those worries.
Things could change, Jose could get a call from god, Levy gives him cheque for £200 mil and Kane gets support from his midfield and scores 40 goals this season.
It was only a few seasons ago that Harry Redknapps Spurs was hailed as playing some of the best football ever seen in the Premier league.
One Day maybe?

We lack drive going forward, we seem to get so slow and cumbersome when moving into the final third. Nothing seems to be done with a sense of urgency at all. I think it’s maybe time to look past dele as he’s not being doing it for a fair amount of time consistently. Our left hand side looks out of sync, Davies is very reluctant to get past son, son often drifts into the centre and off the wide area when Davies has the ball forcing him to pass sideways back into the centre. Winks sat really deep sometimes deeper than PEH and passed mostly sideways. We really look clueless at points attacking, probably most of the time actually. The sub as half time was stupid, I don’t know why we don’t move son, Lucas and Stevie around the frontline to try something different at points of the game. Like if sons not having any joy on the left, switch it over for 10 mins to the right or whatever. Probably just mumbling shit in this but it’s sooooo frustrating to watch us attack. I know funds are limited but we really need someone else in who can create in the top half of the pitch.

Too right. Isn’t that the biggest indictment of Jose. Not one player has really improved. Well, maybe Aurier, but only from atrocious to poor. Super-coach, but no coaching it seems.

Including yourself? Sitting on your self made pedestal calling out everyone who isn't happy with the downwards trajectory of the team.

Mate I have said I am not happy, what pedestal? I am not prepared to call debutantes shits and wastes of money... I dotn get that mentality its not me raising myself above anyone. You say you would have died of boredom waiting a season but seem to for get the Francis's, Gross's, Santini's we have endured. I am on no pedestal believe me, I just hate self entitled fans, as we all seem to do when we laugh at the United's, Liverpool's, Arsenal's fans when they feel they deserve something.
