As per Spurs condition of his contract , Bale will cut his hair in the unveiling video ;)

Sky Sports saying Barnett has told them thst Bale has spoken to Jose and told him Spurs have a special place in his heart...

Said a long way to go though but could be wrapped up very soon if talks continue to go well. Said Bale is closer to leaving Madrid now more than ever.

If that is the case then it suggests it’s more than just a one year loan with Madrid paying half his wages.

SpursOfficial have tweeted so much about the Sky Walk. But it would be good if they could tweet with a caption saying '......just one more post about the sky walk....'

And it's a silhouette of the Cockerel with the city of London in the background and silhouette of a guy walking on the sky walk and you can see his top knot....

In all honesty, I still cant believe this could quite happen. I'm scared of the potential heartbreak of it falling through

Does anyone know how long it was after him leaving that he was linked back to us? Trying to work it out. Memory seems to say it wasn't all that long.

The first time I recall it seeming even remotely possible was after the RM/Liverpool final where he was so clearly utterly fed up with RM. There was always some chat before that, though - it was just too good to let go.

The announcement video has to be golf related, even if it's Harry and two other spurs players waiting for the last of the four-ball to turn up and turns out it's Gareth...with Reguilon as his caddy.

I’d love that - Son, Kane and Bale heading off with Doherty and Reguilon flanking them... but it’ll probably just be a series of clips of him scoring outlandish goals, topped off with the West Ham or Inter ones.

Can I just be the twat to temper expectations and say that he's gonna need a few games over a month or two to really show anything.

He's not played a lot in the last 18 months and there'll be a lot of rust to shake off.

He will score a freekick early doors and the rust will disappear sport is so much about mentality and confidence. Its a shame the fans aren't there because the reception he would get would likely have a similar effect. I remember being at the opening game against Palace at the new stadium and the Dele chant was the first chant that got going all at the same time and the feeling in that place for that was unreal and I was thinking what that must do for a players self esteem. Bale returning would be on a whole different level to that.

On the bright side, might have extended his peak window of performance.

I don't see Levy wanting a one year loan at all, doubt that would be preferable to any party. Nice fall back option maybe. Madrid want shot of him, we don't want to expose ourselves to long term risk. If Madrid bought out his contract he could join us permanently but then you may be looking at a 3-4 year deal for a 31yo.

2 year loan feels like the obvious compromise, but there'll also be performance related bonuses that both Madrid and Gareth would be interested in.

We've had so much of it before but this feels like it's different. His agent is saying Tottenham is where he wants to come. That's a big statement because it lessens the appeal for any other clubs in the race. Spurs are clearly leaking to the press. This has substance moreso than any of the other big ones throughout the years.

Fuck it, I'm all in on the excitement. If heartbreak happens, I'll deal with it. You get used to it supporting this club.

He's coming home...

In complete contrast to previous years' quotes, the positive quotes from Barnett this time round are making me think this may really be happening.

Yeah. Every time I doubt it I remember that Barnett who lol’ed at the suggestion 6 months ago, is now saying it’s close.

I’m sooo excited.

My reading of this is that he's saying it would effectively be a 'free' permanent transfer initially, with add-ons up to a maximum of 15 million if he/we achieve certain milestones.

Mainly, I agree, but I can't wait for this one personally. I quite like the idea of him casually strolling through the training ground, wheeling his golf bag behind him.
At that point he stops and says "I bought a little something with me" and Reguilon pops his head out of the golf bag.

I’m just waiting for the Premier League to do a massive u-turn and ratify the Saudi takeover of Newcastle and then they put in a ridiculous offer to Real for Bale ?
