I'm happy to criticise the club when they deserve it but seriously?

TBF through my work I get a lot of 1st hand experience in managing player image approvals, and their management (mostly not the players themselves) will pore over everything, let alone sponsors, kit manufacturers, player sponsors, the club itself etc. This content will need to be approved by a load of stakeholders who all have an agenda. All knowing it’ll be seen my millions. This is a big moment for everyone involved and it’s important to get it right, as frustrating as it is for us fans!

Obviously they communicate it to a journalist like Ally Gold or Jack Pitt-Brooke who then communicate it to the masses. Would not have been difficult.

Ok, daft pandering aside... I admit to being somewhat perplexed that an announcement wasn’t made today. Anytime tomorrow is fine I guess, but inshore with those who feel some of that arrival positivity is lost by it being tomorrow rather than today. Just falls a tiny bit flat.

It can only mean it’s not 100% done. Otherwise they’d have just announced it. And even if it’s 99.9% done, that means there is a chance it could go still pear shaped. Not sure how we’ve messed this up so badly. I can only presume the scan showed a potential problem (e.g. his knee may need surgery or longer to heal), and they’re seeking 2nd or 3rd opinions. They clearly have done the photos and number allocation but cannot for whatever reason ratify the deal.
