I'm happy no doubt but anyone else not certain he's going to be a success?

He's injured quite a bit and was even in his 20s

He's 31 now and speed has always been one of his main assets (granted he excels in alot of areas)

I don't want to piss on the jizz fest and from a sentimental point of view I'm made up but I'm not convinced he's going to smash it again here.

Not suggesting he's not going to be useful but I genuinely have no idea whether he's still one of the best in the world.
That arsenal forward - just signed a new contract-who’s 31 is the king of the library... let’s not downplay our lot...

I've had a few drinks now and this is just feeling better and better. I honestly can't believe we have got him back.

I concur - drinks and player wise. It feels a surreal moment. I don’t think there’s a comparable moment in the history of the EPL

I think it's much bigger than that - Fernandes is a very good player, but Bale is a Spurs legend and 4 times Champions League winner
Yep but he's on loan not permeant and he's 31 not 25, I agree with your points though he's a bigger name, he's achieved more and he used to be a Spurs legend so it is absoloutely about the best possible signing we could make so will be a huge huge impact but in terms of on the pitch we need someone to get the ball to Bale whereas the position Fernandes plays he literally transformed that Man.U team, 9 goals 9 assists in about 11 games or something is phenomenal.

But anyway it is absoloutely massive and i'm buzzing, all the fans are buzzing, levy is buzzing, the players are buzzing, the youth team are buzzing, heck even donna cullen cracked a smile ;) HUGE HUGE lift for everyone.

I'm not a fan of locking any threads. I get why we need to do it in the ITK thread esle it's chaos but I even dislike doing it there. I don't think there's a good reason to lock something just because it's busy. That's basically the point of the site, to be as busy as possible.

The alternative though is that we're stricter with bans/warnings which I'm also not keen on.
I think he means the people that came in a week or so ago saying lock the thread because it isn't happening

Just been out with the missus watching her team (Borussia Dortmund) play. Had many, many beers. Checked my phone so much that my battery almost died. Was able to see the confirmation tweet from the club 10 mins after it was posted, and then had to wait to get home to read this lovely thread and watch the introduction videos. I’ve never felt this happy about any signing before, and can’t wait to see Bale and Reguilón in Lillywhite. #COYS

For anyone expecting to see a similar Bale to one that left - don't.

He's not the same player, however he's still a very good player and one that is much more experienced and intelligent than the one that left.

He still has a burst of pace in him, but he manages it well in-game.

He's still got a wicked long strike on him, deadly in-front of goal and in the air.
Sorry but I’m expecting the same player! The one with a burst of pace, a wicked shot, deadly in front of goal and great in the air.

No, I TOTALLY understand when admin locks threads. It’s needed sometimes. I mean the posters saying threads should be locked implying it’s pointless discussing the topic. Sorry if I wasn’t clear as you guys do a tremendous job controlling us inmates in the asylum.

Bollocks to all those in the media slagging him off..

Bale‘s return has built a much needed bridge from White Hart Lane, and into the new stadium. We’re starting to get a bit of our Tottenham life and soul back! That’s so, so important moving forwards.

Have a great night everyone!

Can this fella get off of the official website? Some of us want to read more about the skywalk.

I'm happy to admit defeat, I can only go by clips, I didn't watch him in his pomp. I just think from what I've seen Bale and Gazza physical abilities allowed them to be top3 in the world at their peak to go along with their ridiculous technique.
Ardiles said that Hoddle was Maradona without the pace. So he was pretty fucking good.

The original post didn't get the love it deserved so go back and give it some likes as it was the main reason Bale signed.
Much appreciated. So glad for us it worked. SpursCommunity is the best by a million miles. We now have Bale a worldy. Suppose I better chuck £20 into the funds tomorrow morning ?
