Are people genuinely imagining that Bale only learned of his squad number when he pitched up for the photos...?

Yeah I’d imagine he was asked to pick a number and picked the 9 as he explains because he wore it the previous-season he wanted to change from 3 to 11, as he didn’t want 3 as he wasn’t a left back anymore.

Nah but probably first time he actually saw it printed on the Spurs shirt

Yeah. Stating the obvious here but this would have been cleared by Bale and his team during the process of signing, it’s a huge part of his branding and they wouldn’t have agreed to it if they weren’t totally happy with it.

The die-hard Lamela fanboy in me felt like I had to clear that up.

The talent in our team is unreal. A front 5 og Ndombele, GLC, Son, Kane and Bale is simply amazing.

There is no reason we shouldn't win trophies this season.

Disliked him when he threw his shirt away but then found new levels of respect for him when he had his teeth kicked out and carried on playing.
I was at that game where he threw his shirt, sat right by the tunnel.
I was gonna give him dog's abuse... Until I saw the look in his eyes and thought better of it! ?

Trying to remember Redknapps prime team, I think it was:
Robinson
Walker King Woodgate BAE
Lennon Parker Modric Bale
VDV
Ade

can’t believe that didn’t win silverware.

I've seen a few people on social media mention that they saw the stadium photos being taken today whilst they were on the sky walk (if you look carefully in the videos, you can see people up there). I'm surprised that didn't manage to filter through to here during the day.

Think Robinson left the year Harry took over, Gomes was the no.1 keeper through his tenure. Also Think Corluka was our main RB for a few seasons until Walker showed a bit of consistency.

I know we've all seen his spurs compilation goals many, many times, but this one proper got me teared up, the song and lyrics are perfect!

That’s wonderful.

In terms of football has there been any other homecoming that has this level of joy and hysteria? I feel it’s a really unique situation and difficult to describe to fans of other clubs. Not even sure it’s because he still has so much to offer, think I’d have been delighted to have him back even if he was 35.

Sometimes players just win your heart I guess, I have so many amazing memories caused by him and just can’t wait to have some more.

Friedel and Kaboul for Robinson and Woodgate and that's it. The heartbreak that season when Ledley finally conked out was tough to take
