Because they play different positions and we have said we want to keep NDombelle?

We are open to Ndombele moving but want to recoup the fee. That is what has been reported from ITK.

Ndombele is an attacking midfielder in my book, same as Dele. Granted Dele is more of a shadow striker but Ndombele is home grown for PSG.

Also has been reported we are happy to keep him and NDombelle wants to stay so unless they are desperate for him they wouldn't come and ask, where as Dele news is he's not happy that he was dropped and not playing so teams will be looking at him for a deal.

Lol seriously? You don't joke around with colleagues and friends about stupid nonsense? He was one player that definitely cared. Once again overanalyzing a documentary that showed probably less than 5% of the day to day for any of these guys.

Not over analyzing - I thought he came off really poorly because ALL we saw was him being a tit. And the thing I put out there was maybe it was colouring our impressions of him as a lot of people quote the beans, quote the top sweeties, quote the Dele is lazy in training, etc. It’s not about anything more than wondering if it’s got people bring overly critical of him.

And honestly, when I was 24 nah, I wouldn’t have been asking for top 3 candy bars, even having read Hornby’s list obsessed High Fidelity. And at 51, if I started being that much of a prat I’d be sectioned. I’m a boring old man now.

N'dombele, Gio, and arguably Lamela and Bale can play No. 10 better than him on current form, we have enough wingers, and he's not a CM. His transfer fee starts to look like free money to Levy.

I think the way that Dele fits into our current group of players is if we decide to go down the route of a 3-4-3. Because what the 3-4-3 allows you to do is have your fullbacks push up wide. This in turn means your 3 forwards play a lot closer together constantly so they'd be very close to Kane instead of doing the type of job that Son/Moura have been doing. This would suit Dele a lot more especially with Kane and his ability to pick passes. The problem for Dele is he'll be competing with Bale, Son and Bergwijn for this type of job but there's plenty of games to go around.

If we play 4-3-3 it's hard to see where he fits unless he adapts his game aggressively, if we played 3-4-3 sometimes then he wouldn't have to adapt as much. The alternative is if we play a very tactically flexible 4-3-3 where Hojbjerg sits as the 3 defender when we have the ball and allows us to take up the 3 man defence in possesion with the two midfielder infront of the 3 man defence, fullbacks pushing up and forwards coming central, Liverpool sometimes set up like this where they ask Salah and Mane to play the width of the box instead of out wide but this flexible formation puts a lot of pressure on the fullbacks to get up and down the pitch moreso than the 3-4-3 as they're expected to give us the attacking benefits of the 3-4-3 and the defensive benefits of the traditional 4-3-3.

I'm of the opinion that he can play as a wing forward. He does not possess any of the attributes of a typical Bale/Son/Bergwijn however what he can do is be a Lamela type player that knits things together. Dele has the bonus of being bloody good at finding those holes around the pitch to exploit and knows when to make runs into the box.

If I were Jose, that would be how I'd try to use him going forwards. He has the engine to play like a winger which will do us no end of favours too.

To make the sort of runs in behind the opposition defence he’s been making his entire time here?

We used to play higher up the pitch, we now play a lower block. I can't see him being able to attack the space with pace like Son, Moura and Bale (hopefully) will. He isn't explosive enough imo.

I know what you mean but one of the things he is great at is timing of runs and smart runs between defenders. Not sure you necessarily need to be explosive if time it correctly, you’d be in on goal a lot.

If he plays against Orient and strolls around, sulks or shows any sign of a lack of motivation, get rid. Can't keep players who won't meet a challenge like this head on.

Well maybe, but even so there's no way I'd drop Son for him. Depends how he reacts to less playing time I guess. He's needed a kick up the arse for a while, hopefully he reacts well.

Dele has been allowed to coast in an undefined position of pseudo striker for the last few years, lack of squad investment has meant no real competition for his place. There has been a noticeable drop off from the hunger and edge that he showed in his break out years, and this is a large part of the reason why

If he can reapply himself to a dedicated position be it as one of the middle 3, or as one of the wide attackers wherever him and Jose agree would get the best out of him then he can absolutely reach the heights again as he has the talent and intangibles that very few players have. I’m just dubious if he has it in him to make that change or if he believes his own hype too much. If that’s the case then we are best off cutting our losses because it will not work while Jose is here

Ndombele is a midfield General ie good at everything once up to speed.

A player who was sensational at the age of 21 doesn't degrade into a bad player at the age of 23/24.

I know he has been poor for approx 18 months now, but I'm not ready to give up on him yet. I think we would seriously regret selling him, maybe not today maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of our lives (says in his best Bogie voice :) ).
What’s everyone’s take on what happened to him?
Turned lazy?
Injury damage?
Didn’t improve and just lost his way?
Something we’ve not been told?

I love Dele but he definitely has stagnated. I do hope it’s one of Jose’s reverse psychology tricks. If not, he will fetch a big price and that could pay for Hooters.
Let’s be fair, he’s been stagnated for so long he must have a film of smeg all over him. I was one of his best fans at first but I see no comparison between Dele when he arrived and this bloke we see now.

His had many injuries and been played in many different positions. Plus the overall team hasn't been great
