Loan versus sale. He needs to go and either prove himself in the PL with Leeds etc and become competition at RB, or go abroad and make himself worth a higher fee in a slower league.

Need him off the books for this year's squad, but not at a loss, either financially or of his potential.

To loan him out I think we'd have to give him another contract first, otherwise, by the time he comes back he's pretty much a free agent anyway. I'd love to keep him and see him get his chance but I don't think it will happen now. A sale with a buy back clause is probably about as much as I could expect.

Seems to be akin to the Milik deal we're pursuing with Napoli.

Unfortunately he's been poorly managed.
Exactly this.

Poch being the young players’ manager and the fullback whisperer is one of the biggest and most persistent myths of his period with us. After Dele and Winks, how many of our young talents were really given a chance? Not even allowed to go out on loans as it was better to train under him but never play (the first years). And after the first seasons of Rose & Walker, how many of our defenders really developed under his management?

Foyth was uneven in his performances for us. He did some mistakes. As young players do! When you get one match every 2-3-4 months as a young player, you never really get a proper chance to develop into a quality player. The potential was there for anyone to see, and it’s not like we were the only ones after him. He was a great young Argentinian defensive talent, came to us as a teenager, and was then badly mismanaged. Simple as.

Foyth would be a good signing at 15m for an aspiring middling club?

I say that as somebody who isn't a massive fan.

I worry that we're not the club for him to progress. I think at a lesser club, with more game time and less pressure he could be a good asset for a middling team.

Add to that he already has a pretty good international reputation he has a high upside if he were to get better.

£4M, what are Leeds smoking?! He’s worth at least £10M, anything less is derisory

He’s unproven at this level. Yes he seems to have decent technique, but his defending leaves a lot to be desired and he always seeks to make a mistake.

I’m not sure he gets into any of the current premier league sides if I’m honest, as a squad player he has the limitation of not being a HG player.

Couple that with the depressed transfer market and I don’t see anyway we get £15 million for this guy.

I personally think we are going to really struggle to sell him for a decent price.

I'd like to see him go on loan to Ajax but we'd need to get him on a new contract first. I think he'd be fantastic there and people would soon be going nuts for him.

dont know why we are giving up on a 22 y/o full international with a handful of appearances for us.
Because he is massively prone to mistakes and Jose doesn’t trust him. With the right coaching and patience he could become a good player, however equally he could not mature and just be a Chirches. Jose doesn’t fancy that

We don’t have the luxury of keeping him around hoping he comes good. He’s taking up a non HG spot for one thing, and we need to sell him to pay for more pressing needs.

Fulham were one of the teams interested right? The CB they wanted to sign has failed a medical, hopefully they come back to us.

Hope so, but from a purely objective point of view Foyth would be a terrible signing for them.

They face a huge battle to stay on the league and what they need is a more reliable and experienced defender. Even if they are not as skilled on the ball as Foyth.

The coaching staff see him every day, we don't. And it's telling that both Pochettino and now Mourinho didn't/don't seem to have much confidence in him.
If he's not improving as the club hoped he would, it gets to a point where selling is the best option for both parties (KWP is another example).
