Never liked KUMB forum at all, but such a great thread where they recognised some Spurs players past and present

I seem to recall them actually being fairly decent on there, a lot of sarcy bastards enjoying some self-deprecating. Obviously it'll go sour at points when they talk about Spurs, but I think its one of the forums that has a fair few level-headed fans on there surprisingly

Agree. It does get quite hate filled on certain subjects, often us, but they are self deprecating and funny.

"Weve mentioned quite a lot of tottenham players.
Maybe from the time, when there was a lot more mutual respect between both sets of fans.

I'm sure there fans would mention quite a few of our legends that they admired."

Ok im happy to get this one started.

I'd say that has something to do with the fact that they don't attract glory hunters or (apologies to our international fan base) supporters from abroad who, by nature, aren't properly rooted in the history and culture of the club.

Dunno about 'admire' but I respected John Moncur. I know he was one of ours but he was a bastard to play against. Remember him cutting Dominguez down in a loss for us and giving it the come on fists to the away end.

Oh sorry 'laugh at West Ham' thread...umm Marco Boogers for booting Gary Neville in the chest and then spawning a legend of him not being able to cope with football so disappearing with a caravan

I'm surprised none of them mention Gareth Bale? :D

I have a little admiration for Mark Noble actually, don’t get me wrong, he’s crap. But he gives his all, and clearly loves his club. He’s done really well to get himself into a premier league side and stay there for over a decade.

Alan Devonshire (like a poor mans Hoddle) Ray Stewart (great left back & penalty taker) and I quite liked Frank Mckevenie.

when we were kids playing football together we used to pretend who we would be and some strange reason i picked Trevor Brooking when playing forward ( we could pick players from who we supported)

In recent times I admired Kanoute, Defoe, (was made up when we signed them) Joe Cole. I'd still take Declan Rice in a heartbeat.

Other than that....nah.

That Redknapp guy was a decent sort, wasn't he?

Quite spectacular, and a sign of their status, that they've had these lads come from their youth academy and they've done absolutely nothing as club during that time. A lot of them at the same point in time:

Rio Ferdinand
Michael Carrick
Joe Cole
Paul Ince
Frank Lampard
Jermain Defoe

John Terry was even theirs up until he was 15 or so. Does Glen Johnson deserve to be on the list?

From a different era, but Tony Cottee of course.

Probably on my own.. but always have time for Mark Noble. Think he comes across well in interviews. If he doesn't go into coaching when he retires has the making of a decent pundit. As a player as well cant fault him always gives 100%.

I know their former striker Trevor Morley quite well, he scored a good few goals in the early PL era. He's a semi-regular panelist on our PL shows so I've worked with him a lot over the last decade, he wound down his career at Brann in Bergen, met his current wife and just stayed put. Very much a geezer but in a nice sort of way, and he has so many incredible stories from his time as a pro in the 80s and 90s.
