Interesting, he seems to be using social media more and more to communicate with the players.

Is this a good idea?

He's been trying to improve his public image for some time and this is another way of doing it.

This poser move of hauling off four guys at half time would've made more sense if Lucas wasn't given free reign to fuck things up week after week.

This guy has won all his life. Must be weird coming here and seeing players uncomfortable with that responsibility

Probably the realisation that some players mentality just can't be changed. Only so long you can fight, in as many different ways possible, to garner a reaction and a change for the better (or at least what he wants to see)

No excuses just saying it how it is, that’s the Jose I like. We move on. The weaker players in the squad are becoming clearer and clearer.

Squad depth and quality is unreal but CB and DM can still be improved. Shame that Roden can’t play EL until the next phase as I’m sure he’d have been better than Davies.

We move on.

He’ll have learned a lot tonight, or at least confirmed what he suspected. The club mentality is still lacking

I hope he tears them all a new arsehole.

I see the haters are back now we've lost a game. Kneejerk is an understatement.
I think I just saw a knee fly past my window.

And I'm on the twelfth floor!

I'm kidding, of course.

I'm on the second floor.

Depth is unreal, quality not so much - it's being shown up to what it's been like the last 18 months - 2 years. We've improved the starting 11 and shifted the players who were dragging the squad down onto the bench - it's a start but it's not good enough really, not with how we want to compete short to medium term, imo.

He's basically right tho. There is a reason why a lot of those players don't get in the first XI. And it's not a lack of basic quality. It's drive, ambition, responsibility.

If Antwerp are able to get a side who contain various ex Blackpool, Hull, Norwich and MK Dons players to play above their base level of quality then our players should be able to at least match their fight. If we match their fight then our higher base quality should win the game. But tonight it couldn't, because they didn't fight. They didn't earn the right to do the flicks, the nutmegs, the stepovers.

No matter the quality, without the fight we will lose to bang average teams.
