i don't know actually. not intentional by me , like a winks goal.
We have 2 World class players. A handful of top quality players and the rest are squad players or not good enough.

No crowds in stadiums is actually helping us and yet we’re still struggling for results now. No way our fans would have the patience for this way of playing. JM and the players would get a pasting and the pressure would be even more exaggerated.
If this is JM’s medium term strategy I’m not so sure our fans will put up with it.

Will we though? We have great attacking players in our squad, an embarrassment of them - yet they appear to be instructed to sit back. Not sure it's worth investing in more creativity if they're going to defend.

But even he don't do enough - he has bits in the game - and to be fair to him we sit so bloody deep no offensive players get in the game. Then if you have any ambition you have to bring on Dele
And if you fancy a good conspiracy theory was it a coincidence that Son gives away the ball on the edge of the box and gets hooked

There is absolutely no need to completely stop playing if we go a goal ahead.
Surrendering possession, Sitting back, deeper and deeper into the second half, just invites trouble. A goal against, as we have proved is pretty much inevitable against even average Premier league opposition.
As was said, ends justify the means, so I can accept that turgid football if we win. But that is a terrible watch for 1 point.

Does Jose really have so little faith in our defenders since the WHam calamity that we must now play the entire season - against *everyone* - as if we're facing prime Pep-era Barca? Would a CB like Skriniar have provided him sufficient confidence to let the attackers go a bit more? Would a Van Dijk??
To have us playing as fearfully as this the guy surely cannot be as happy with his squad as previously let-on. Yes Jose has always been defense first, but his best teams never hid in their shell with the same persistence ours has this season.
I'm becoming increasingly baffled as to the strategy going forward here. It might win us a cup, which would be great, but what I really want is to see us challenge in the league. I just can't fathom how such can become possible playing like this.

Exactly this. He simply cannot do 90 mins at the levels he shows for 60+ minutes. You saw that today. He stopped tracking back

Our squad is good enough to beat Palace or Wolves or Leicester. We’ve spent hundred of millions on it and have some of the best attacking players in Europe. We’re afraid to have a go. Carved open teams at start of season, hammered teams. Now we look like we’d struggle to hammer a league 2 side.
