Well, that was the kind of performance I was saying he hasn't put in since he's been here.

Now he has. Do this every week and we have a serious player on our hands.

Yeah much better when hes able to drop deeper and dictate play there. We played through the middle much more today despite having less numbers there.

In this role he's still able to join the attack but start counter attacks too.

When he plays as the 10, he has to wait for the ball to get inbetween the lines when he should be the player making it happen.

Jose better single him out for praise. Tanguy has been really consistent and has been putting in the work to help the team.

He is definitely starting to impact and affect games more. Been very very good recently and admit that Jose has managed him well to get him to this stage. He looks fitter and sharper.

Clear MOTM today. Hopefully this performance in a two-man CM will give Jose confidence to play Ndombele alongside Hojbjerg more often.

See what happens when he plays in CM, and not in front of players who can't pass forward. Every time he touches the ball he seems to have all the energy in the world again!

Easily MOTM for me.

Ndombele has always been criticised for his lack of enthusiasm and effort in games against smaller sides.

I think we can put that to rest now. He’s just put in a man of the match performance playing in a deeper role that Mourinho initially didn’t trust him in, scored a wonder goal and finished the game.

I have many, many issues with Mourinho but I can only praise him for his man management of Ndombele. The guy is world class and if he continues this upward trajectory, could easily become the best central midfielder in the world.

The thing is the performances you were saying you were expecting from him typically come from players who play deeper. No coincidence that he finally delivered one when he was put into that role.

Really dont understand why we waited until now for it. Shouldnt look at the past too much but it does make me wonder with some of the results namely the fulham 11 we played, could have had another attacker and dictated the ball better.

Absolute magnificent. That's the type of midfield quality to make those lower quality teams show the proper respect. They stopped pressing him in the 1st half and in bits of the 2nd. One of the best individual performances this season, on a par with Kane's 2nd half against Southampton!

For me its no surprise that his best performance has come when played in his best & natural position.

OK, we really need some gifs and multi-angle replays of that assist and goal!

So much better when in central midfield. I believe that formation was set up to mitigate any defensive deficiencies Jose seems to think he has in his game, and if that is indeed the case, so be it.

I’d happily maintain the 3-4-3 formation as it enables Ndombele to player deeper, as well as getting the best out of Reguilon and Aurier. It also allows Kane to drop into that no. 10 role knowing that Ndombele won’t be crowding that area. Davies, whose a very solid defender, is also a natural left sided CB in a back three.

He's proven he can be played in a deeper role. When he sprints he is actually deceptively quick.

There's no more need for Sissoko whilst he keeps this up.

Technically speaking he's our best player. I really hoped he would make it here so I'm glad to see him coming good this season. So influential.
