Our defence is not remotely good enough to win the Europa League.
Clearly you didn't understand what I meant. Not league survival, just plain old existencial survival.Survival - fuck me. Call me crazy, but I'm hoping for a bit more than that!!
No, I understood perfectly Sebo.Clearly you didn't understand what I meant. Not league survival, just plain old existencial survival.
There's a lot of truth in what you've said but we've also seen him take quite a few steps backwards as well and cling on to his old ways. Like a lot of people at the moment, I don't like the managerial merry-go-round either so, yes, if he can win those games and make the necessary improvements then he should be allowed to turn it around and stay in the job. I honestly would like to see him do it, but he needs to get us back to being competitive fairly soon and consistently. The thing is, he HAS deviated from what many have labelled his "brand of Football." We are currently more attacking and have greater possession against the teams we are expected to. The only deviation from this has been City, and anyone in their right mind wouldn't expect us to dominate possession against them.
The results have been mixed, but he's got us more front foot.
We have a run of very winnable games coming up, hopefully providing much needed points and, more importantly, much needed confidence.
We need to keep our powder dry here. If we don't see an improvement then yes, his position would likely be untenable.
Then understand this. In Levy we have a chairman who is capable of steering us through these very murky waters. As a club we have had zero stadium income for close to a year now. And not just Spurs football, but NFL, concerts and other events. That's 6 million per home game x 19. NFL x 2, several concerts a year. We are talking serious bucks. And without Enic and Levy's passion none of that would have materialised. Trophies are soo important, I know. But THFC is more than that. We are a shining example of how to GRADUALLY BUILD success. And it's coming. No, I understood perfectly Sebo.
This has to be one of the best posts I've ever seen on here - bravo Sir!First time a post has ever compelled me to whip out Microsoft fucking Excel. Upward trajectory in dotted blue through the middle there. View attachment 83002
So how long do you give it then Sebo? Surely over 20 years with little to no success is long enough. Ten managers down. If I went through managers in my workplace like Levy does, then I'd have been fired long ago. If Levy is not capable of providing the right tools for a manager to do his job properly and successfully, then it would be right for Levy to consider his own position. Then understand this. Hey, I'm in this for the ride. I couldn't care less. If we win something, great, if not, we don't. I love the banter with my students and they really stick it to me.So how long do you give it then Sebo? Surely over 20 years with little to no success is long enough. Ten managers down. We’ve been through 10 different managers under Levy. Ten!! So if we sack Jose and get someone else in, what exactly will be any different? Just another manager being hung out to dry by the current owners. Sure, we are probably slightly better off than we were in the nineties, but if that is good enough for you then fuck off and support West Ham!! ENIC are the problem and until they are gone we are going nowhere!! Fact.
Its been many years where the team has promised so much. The team has failed to deliver success season after season. Now we have hit the buffers. Whether Jose or the players are to blame or just the natural end, we’ve run out of rails. The players need to understand this and go out on a high. Beat City and win in Europe. Didn’t Chelsea do this winning the CL and finishing around 8th?
In ref. to Pochettino's earlier statementFull of woodworm?
We had a manager who played the game in the right way. He was also hung out to dry by his boss. Despite warning that the squad needed a complete overhaul, he was then given two straight transfer windows without a single player being bought. Zero backing. Nothing!! It doesn’t matter who the manager is or the brand of football they play, the outcome will always be the same with Levy pulling the strings! We should never have hired him because the way he plays football isn't the Spurs way. The contrast to Poch is there for all to see. From one of the most attacking teams (if you take out Poch's last 9 months) to one of the least who relies on moments of brilliance from Kane and Son. It's like having George Graham in charge again, yeah he might win us the League Cup but the football is fucking dreadful to watch. We all knew it was a 3 year run at best because it always goes tits up for him after that. We've managed to do it under 18 months. Only Spurs.
