Why can't Sissoko jump? It's mad how many goals from set pieces he's been directly responsible for. He literally can't get off the ground.

Think this is a prime example of what Jose meant when he said certain things couldn't be fixed by him or coaching. Shocking mentality.
Leaving Winks on the pitch all game and not bringing N'Dombele on was criminal. As was taking off Hojberg who is arguably the most passionate player in the spinless squad.
I would have taken a 4-0 loss over this if we had atleast taken the game to them.
Just sick of limping through big games like this like a wet lettuce.
Pretty numb to it all now though tbh

Admittedly Mourinho's game was bad. But this was worse. This was a Cup Final FFS and yet the players' were not up for it, subs were terrible, some starting XI personnel were all a letdown. You can call Mourinho always trying to defend and break away for counters, but today we lost the midfield totally, couldn't defend, couldn't counter. The worse of football was shown to the world today by us and you still consider today was better than anything under Jose.

I'm not defending Winks, or anyone ahead of him for that matter but the fact is that if the "shackles were off" we "went for it" we would have been 3 or 4 nil down by half time. We're not good enough to play them at their own game. The tactics were fine, it's the fact that our better players were absolutely appalling today.

Why the fuck don't you just put your best players out on the pitch and go for it. Its a one off game. Bale should have started.

Felt like we had done so much good work to stay in the game, the plan being bring on the heavy hitters in Ndombele and Bale to bring the quality we needonce the game was stretched.
I can't believe we undid all that work by bringing on Sissoko. I'm gutted, then the other subs we just lost all our shape.

Fine if you want to say that Ndombele played himself out of the team, but that doesn’t explain why Gio came off instead of Winks.
From the moment the substitutions were made we were utterly incapable of passing the ball forward, and it was because of the players we had in midfield. A different manager (perhaps not Jose) absolutely would have made a difference. Mason got it completely fucking wrong.
