That game summed up our season. Frustrating, hope, mistakes, poor football, some good football, can’t defend, no Influence form the coach and VAR and ref decisions going against us.

We got what we deserved today but I would still like that f*****g moron in the VAR studio hauled out before the TV cameras and made to explain himself.

Nothing about tactics? Leeds routinely put opponents that go toe-to-toe with them to the sword. This team has not been coached in possession-oriented play for over 18 months and waltzed into an absolute buzzsaw in the form of Bielsa's well-drilled press. And to make matters worse we didn't even use the correct personnel for attempting to play against it.

It was incredibly naive from Mason but I don't even blame him, it's Levy who has gotten us into this mess. It was Levy who presided over the disastrous recruitment between 2015-2018, it was Levy who brought in an absolute dinosaur of a manager as a quick-fix solution to a squad that was nowhere near good enough, and it is Levy now who has put an absolute novice in charge with European qualification hanging in the balance. The club has been a complete fucking mess for years and years, and the blame lies with those at the top.

Make good points, but if we put out an 11 to beat this press and lose the game...Mason gets absolutely slaughtered on here for changing a winning team.

Agree with second paragraph completely.

Our seasons done

Hoping that West Ham are relying on Leicester dropping points on the last game and we’ll roll over. Karma for Lasagne-gate

They aren't shit. They just lack desire and application. I would be far more comfortable with it if it was an ability issue. It isn't.

you say it isn’t ability but we have at least 3 players who can only stand on their weak foot it delays everything they do and makes them predictable, that’s ability.

we also have several players who if there is a player within the same post code cannot pass the ball 5 yards, is that not ability

then there’s anticipation and focus these are also key skills in a footballer

so whilst I do think you are right that they don’t have a system to play in they are also lacking some of key abilities to be top footballers

Mourinho was abysmal and these players don't look like they've been trained properly since Poch left. And you can't go from the style of Poch to a dinosaur like Mou and think there's coherence there and the players will just adjust to the night and day difference in approach.

Levy got to enjoy a CL final after 4 strong years of well-drilled players picking up good habits. It's a shitshow now because he thought you could still achieve that standard with flashy quick fixes.
Yeah this is true.

Tuchel achieved a seamless adaptation in tactics but I believe that's because Chelsea have more ball players and Lampard was trying to coach a pressing front foot system, he just wasn't good at it. Tuchel knows what he is doing so has just sharpened it up.

We, on the other hand, have too many unintelligent players and have been coached poorly for two years now, therefore they lose system and composure way to easily.

VAR needs to go. The angle they checked leeds 3rd looks onside. But of u see the angle from behind he looks offside. Crazy stuff.
The check was done so quickly is almost like they just want to award the goal regardless. Kane's goal on the other hand, they were trying so hard to draw the line just so his foot crosses it.

It's embarrassingly stupid. It's sickeningly corrupted.

To be fair, if we had managed to sneak top 4 after the absolute shitshow of a season it would have been a major miracle.

Not really sure why people are blaming this loss on Mason, he picked the right team, unfortunately they're just not good enough nor do they work hard enough. Instead of worrying about our attack they were just relentless with their press and we had no answer or control of the game. We haven't been coached good habits over the past few years and Mason won be the one to change that in a few weeks.

I'm pretty sure everyone wanted Bale to start today, in an ideal world we could play a 4-3-3 and have an energetic, physical midfielder to play on the right side of the midfield 3 to cover Bale's lack of tracking back. But our only option for that is Sissoko. And we know how bad he is.

I love Bielsa as a manager but he is at the right type of club, a club with lower expectations, and no star players who will work hard for him. There is a reason he has not managed a really top club. He has done really well at Leeds, but he will not be the one who can take them to the next level for them which is Europe.

Bielsa would have been a great manager for Spurs before we made the Champions League and Europe consistently.

He also likes a project and wants to feel an affinity with the club. He would be great at Newcastle, Sunderland, Celtic, Torino and other similar clubs who need a shake up and have a passionate fan base, a culture around the club and in the doldrums.
That’s us now again.

Not blaming Mason alone because he's been here five minutes but surely managers are responsible for the performance of employees they manage. If they feel working conditions aren't fair or reasonable then that's up to them to fight against or protest.

I do not understand how VAR could have cancelled out Kane‘s goal. Ridiculous decision and it changed the match for our weak minded players.

Bielsa just said it was their best performance of the season.

Any football manager only has to say one thing when their team are playing us -

"Attack them at every opportunity - If you can't get past them easily don't worry they will gift you many chances"
