One paper today says Kane has told Levy let me go for 100 mil which if true makes me think city have said they wouldn't pay more than that. We know Pep wont get involved in an auction as has he said before so unless he or Levy change their minds on the value Kane might not get his dream move to City.

If Utd wanted Kane this summer I’d take around £150 million + Dean Henderson for Kane. We are going to need a new keeper in the next 12 months as looks like Lloris will more than likely be off at the end of his contract. Valuing Henderson around £20 million in that deal which seems more than fair for a number 2 goalkeeper.

Well if we are going to let him go for 120m in a years time (why would there more buyers at the table? ) we might as well let him go for 140-150m now, after all it's not like him staying next season guarantees us to win anything plus do we want all this transfer talk unsettling everyone for another year.

Fair points regarding winning anything. As much as being a Spurs fan has a certain amount of optimism, that has been drained this year to very low levels. Inclined to agree with your view on this post, that a) if more money is offered now and b) it avoids a year of limbo and speculation it would make sense to do it. Just hard to plan with no manager ultimately.

My view regarding waiting, was that with 2 years to go (still not bad and with Kane i'd have faith he wouldn't run it down) and COVID hopefully 12months behind us, more clubs would have money at their disposal.

I would take any of these fringe players:
Ake
Stones
Ferran Torres
B. Silva

Looking at the City squad of maybe 19 first team players and then looking at our of 24 I think a smaller squad is still the way to go.
But would those players listed want to come to us?

It's alright banding around swap deals but it has got to work for the individuals involved.

Why fringe players? If they really want him then it'll have to be a big name. If that player doesn't want to come then it's no deal. This is Tottenham Hotspur not West Ham.

This sums it up well for me and are the reasons why I can't see Kane leaving this year

There is a club or clubs who have already tapped Kane up, and told him they want him do you really think Harry would have gave that interview if there wasn't a club serious in spending that kind of money? I think he will go for about £130m with add ons etc.

I have no doubt they have told him they want him but that's what clubs do all the time with players, they dont always sign them though.
No club is going to spend 130m+ on him, won't happen. Not even sure levy would sell for that amount of money. Could need 140/150m+.
He'll still be here next season

It's just been lifted from the Neville interview - I think that's just an arbitrary figure they were referencing

I can't believe Carragher wrote that himself!

Far too spot on. Cheers for posting, a good read and this sums it up:

"Everyone is anticipating a fight between the player and the chairman, but the reality of the situation is this: Levy won the day he convinced Kane to commit himself to Tottenham until 2024."

They've taken that figure from the Gary Neville interview where Harry says something like "The chairman might decide he wants to let me go for £100m".

Those players all have years left on there deal. All currently playing (bar Ake whose been injured) good amount of minutes for best side in the world. They aren’t outcasts why would they agree to leave

I think he’s always been motivated by Greavsie’s record. I don’t underestimate how important this could be when he weighs up all the pros and cons.

Was there a rumour that we were to wear a new kit against Villa?

While I appreciate your positivity, I think this deal will be done pretty quickly. City have much more to win outa this than just a consistent goal scorer, Harry is loved by the media and is the England poster boy.

Kane Is well aware of who wants him and who he wants just a matter of levy getting the deal done.

Accepted by who? No mate, not even close.
Idk I feel like that's just the price I've seen quoted lots online but now that I think about it I feel that was just pulled out of thin air unless Ali Gold or Dan KP said it before. Personally I think it's a realistic price post-covid, especially if Kane really pushes to leave which it looks like he's doing and no club will pay more than 150m imo.

You also need to remember that Haaland is available for 75m next summer with his clause so if we don't sell Kane now we might end up losing him for very little in comparison next window as a big club that needs a striker will just go for Haaland instead so it limits our selling options.
