The reality is aswell, remember when we got to Champions League final, we suddenly had an extra 100 mill to spend, so did Liverpool. Looks like city will be using theres.

Writing was on the wall when the kit launch was pushed back. The club would have clearly used Harry to model the kits, and probably didn't want a repeat of the expectations to keep Bale after he modelled our 13/14 kit.

I don't think it was a coincidence we scrapped the plans almost immediately after his apparent request to leave hit the press.

Well, that’s not making my hangover any better is it FFS.

If we sign £150m worth of players over the summer we will know for sure because he’ll be off at the end of it.

It's so weird we have this media agenda to get kane to City. It will be the same media that will then say the league isn't competitive as City are too good and 30 points clear

Fuck it. As much as it will pain me to see Kane leave, in some ways it will be a relief to start next season with a fresh young team and new manager, without the constant media speculation around Kane’s future. I just hope we appoint the right manager and make smart signings to get us progressing again...

Hope we can work it out professionally and without acrimony, so that he may want to return in a few years time...

JJ also said “If they don’t pay, they won’t get.”

I know he’s obviously well informed but this reads like personal opinion more than anything.

It’s informed opinion though isn’t it?

Personally I’ve thought us going out and spending loads on players to keep him, with the club’s finances as they are, massively unlikely.

Might as well close the club down now. Zero ambition to be anything else but mediocre.

Now, we need a competent/proven DoF first, followed by a progressive coach appointment. And for Levy to fuck off from making footballing decision...

This is the only way to ensure the money from Kane sale is spent well. If this doesnt happen, Kane sale money is as good for as down the sewer.

If city rivals such as united and chelsea were smart, they'd know that Kane wants to go city and they would make it difficult for city by bidding stupidly high fee's to push up the cost of city.

I've been hoping he stays but after that from JJ get him gone now and get Danny Ings and Patson Daka in ASAP

i really don't want him coming back tbh. didn't feel comfortable with the bale thing but at least he went abroad: kane's forcing a move to a team that will stand in the way of our success. players shouldn't be able to leave and return when they're over the hill and they want an ego rub

Yep. It’s basically shutting off the league title to the rest of the 19 teams.

The worst bit of it is explained to my kids why he’s left. I’m secretly hoping it puts them off football rather than just spurs!

One word. Webster. I believe this was his third season of the current contract. I don't think Kane would go that far but if things get ugly it's a possibility innit?

I'm pretty sure I remember after the ruling that there was a gentlemans agreement between all clubs never to use this rule and refuse to sign any player who buys themselves out of their contract - it's in all clubs interests to make actually using the rule as difficult as possible to preserve tranfer fees

Oh bum flaps.

I really hope we get more than £140million, he’s in the prime of his career, England Captain, scores for fun, doesn’t miss penalties, is the ultimate professional (apart from all this), and is a leader..

That’s gotta be more than £140million even in a pandemic.
With Aguero going, the #10 shirt is available. Don’t think they’d be willing to add some players to the mix. They certainly have the money tho.
Man Utd would struggle with the money, but have players they could throw in - Martial for example.

Either way, I seriously hope that Levy gets us the best possible deal, £140million plus Martial, or £160million then go and buy a CB, Dybala, Toney, and Sabitzer.

Just wish he announced it like a man on an official HK/Spurs platform instead of 'coming out' on a golf course with Gary bloody Neville.

GN is truly obsessed with getting HK to the north-west, even getting Fergie now to name drop which Spurs players he'd have liked to work with.

Remember similar skullduggery with Poch and the Utd clan.

Dig in, Levy.

I should start by saying that losing a player of the ability Kane possesses can never be a good thing...

However, having around £200m when we sell our deadwood will make for an exciting summer at least.

Unfortunately, we’re trusting that money with one of the worst recruitment teams ever.

The blame lies firmly with Levy. We were second, so nearly champions but he didn’t build on that.
He let good players move on without adequate replacement. To be keep the team fresh was the way to go, he let it get stale and mouldy.
A chance to win a trophy and he sacks the manager 6 days before. Now I wanted to see the back of Mourinho but he was a winner and should have had the chance. Not sure even winning that would keep Harry but he would have left with a medal. (Not saying we would have won)
Harry leaving won’t be the end of Tottenham but our dreams are shattered and we must look forward to a painful rebuild and mid table nothingness for a few years.
Why will any really decent manger come here looking at what’s gone on?
Good luck Harry we will miss you but another hero will come along. ??‍♀️
