Side note.
Kylian Mbbape on his social media released statement similar to Harry Kane - give me team able to compete on highest levels or iam going.

Hmmm. Not sure what he expects. CL finalists last year. CL semi-finalists this year. Won the league 7 of the last 9 years, and will probably win the league every year for the foreseeable future. Doesn't get much more competitive at the highest levels than that. Just be honest and say you want more money and to play in a better league.

Purely hypothetical situation, but how would people feel if we lost Kane and Son but ended up with a front line of Zaha, Daka and Traore (or something similar)? We'd probably have money left over to chuck at a quality CB as well.

Edit; I'm interested to know how it's possible to disagree with a question.

We will be worse off because neither Zaha nor Traore score enough goals.
I really don't think we can afford to lose both of them in a single trransfer window.
I honest think we will be flirting with relegation if we do so.

Always thought that surely City would rather go for Haaland

And that Kane would be more of a massive vanity signing for Uniteds owners trying to get the fans back on side

Yeah was in the Delaney article. Seems logical given Kane’s age and ankle history. Don’t get me wrong, Kane is the best striker in the world, but from a transfer perspective Haaland seems the more logical target. He will be cheaper in 12 months time, but I imagine both Chelsea and City would be happy to spend the extra money to secure him now, than wait twelve months and have the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona able to compete for the lower price.

From a Man City perspective and also the type of player they go for it doesn’t make sense for them to go for Kane over Haaland but we all know there’s no sense in football.

I mean, this is City we are talking about, so they can afford both players if they really want them.

Glad to see Micah Richards saying yesterday that Sky Sports were being disrespectful talking after the game about where Kane will go.

Suddenly every one of them start back-tracking and coming out with absolute bollocks. Neville suddenly shouting "I never said he'd leave! He didn't say he was leaving in my interview! I never suggested it!" and **** Redknapp "Oh yeah of course Micah, oh yeah nah ee ain't left Spurs yet, ee might not leave at all".

Backtracking pricks being called out for their bullshit. Neville was in full retreat, it was embarrassing to watch.

You’re kidding aren’t you? United very publicly made him their number one target for the summer, they were desperate to get him.
If they wanted him that bad they would have paid the asking price.

It is 100% the kind of thing Woodward would have done but he’s gone/is going so I’m not sure how likely that now is. Probably pretty likely but not as much. Levy would have got a fuckload of money out of Woodward though, that’s for sure.

Still think utd have a hard-on for sancho and will move for him this window, don't think they wanted to pay what dortmund wanted so gives you an idea of how skint they are. They can't afford both him and kane though, hell I don't think they can afford Kane anyway without the need to chuck mediocre players into the deal.

If they do come in it's cash only, and all of it upfront. If you can't do that then fuck off and come back when you can and then we might talk.

For me it's the other way round, Kane is way more suited to Man City than Haaland in all honesty. Haaland is much more and out an out striker, Kane can drop deep more effectively. Lets be very clear here, the stuff coming out now about Kane is because Man city are interested, and tbh I think Kane would be fantastic for them.

The benefits of Kane over Haaland include he has proven himself in the league, he is homegrown, and he is stylistically more suited to a team who like their number 9s dropping deeper etc.

Haaland is more exciting and will be around for a long time, but I'm not really sure that interests Guardiola.

Both would work excellently for City IMO — they have plenty of creativity & goal threat on the wings and in midfield to supplement both styles of striker (of which Kane is already a complete striker and Haaland will probably develop into).

True, but it's just what Guardiola likes, Aguero didn't start originally under Guardiola because of his lacking general play, Ibra wasn't liked by Guardiola either. Like A good example of this is the wingers are a goal threat in part because the striker makes space for them to come inside, If you have a traditional 9 there, you will change that balance. Haaland absolutely could develop into it, but I think there is a reason they seem to have chosen to focus on Kane.

Danny Kelly now talking about him on talkSPORT. As he’s spurs it might be worth listening to.

Edit: maybe not, that prick Ollie Holt is on his show!
