Conte camp leaking this to the Italian journos to put pressure on United because he's desperate for that job (as has been made clear by all these same journos over the past fortnight).

Not going to happen.

Possibly but Utd won't just sack Ole now because we're kicking Conte's tyres.

The Paratici link is what makes this interesting, as well as Levy potentially more desperate and willing to give him what he's asking for.

That said I do think the appointment is very unlikely. Would be a major coup even if he'd be a ticking time bomb.

Conte news does feel too good to be true, we know as Spurs fans we don’t get nice things. Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re just getting cucked by Conte’s agent.

Don’t care I’m still fucking believing it. CONTE TIME

Apologies if this is the wrong thread. A project manager is needed but that may only be part of the solution. As we don't / won't / can't spend money like water, there seems little point recruiting/selling as we do and trying to compete in this way with the top four. We'll just end up in a cycle with a few great players and quite a bit of deadwood, constant management changes, no style and no continuity.

I would suggest spending money on turning ourselves into the next Dortmund so that the next Sancho or Bellingham wants to come to us and can see a quick, direct route into the first team. Spend money instead on hiring the best quality academy coaches available in world football and steal the best academy players. Once a player gets to a decent price and/or certain age (remember the 50m plus price tags on Dele & Dier?) then sell them. That way we may still not always get into the top four but the club atmosphere will be great and the football should be entertaining to watch.

Feel like the next manager has to be a progressive, modern manager with the right optics so fans get onboard. A manager who we genuinly have faith in and will give a 5 year contract to, like we did with Poch. Potter, Gallardo or the like.

Don't see the point in hiring someone like Conceicao because we'll probably give him another short-term contract, the fans won't give him time because he's not particularly attractive to watch nor is he a big name, and we'll be in the same 'treading water' state for the next 12 months or whatever.

Only manager who would be worth getting despite not being a long-term project option is Conte just because he's one of the top 3 coaches in the world imo. But that's likely not going to happen and would probably end in disaster so in the meantime just hire a caretaker and get someone who actually fits as soon as they become available.

Anyone taking bets on how many pages this thread will run to?

Didnt the last one run to approx 2500 before Nuno signed?

The promise of Conte has me off to my storage unit to unpack all those wigs I bought last time we were linked a few months ago to sell on the High Road on Match Days.

I know we're really down on the club but actually imagine...

_________Lloris__________

___Tanganga__Romero __dier_

Emerson______________Reguillion

_________skipp___Holjberg_____

___________lo celso or N'dombele___

_________kane_____Son_________

That's a balanced team that if coached correctly could do great things.

Plenty of cover in defence, centre midfield is the biggest weakness but good coaching could make them effective and the thought of a kane and son partnership under conte is mouth watering

Plus playing two up front mean both berjwijn and moura can be one of the two and scarlett could also play but without the pressure of being a lone striker.

Going forward I think he would want another top midfielder and striker at the least but that's what we should want anyway.

We definitely have the tools for Conte's system.

If we can add 2/3 key additions then we can be very competitive again IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're panicking and trying again for Conte because he's the obvious quick fix but I still just don't see it happening.

Time for Conte was in the summer. Don't see what's changed now that is going to make Levy want to spend millions and don't see why Conte would take the gig when the United job is definitely going to be available by the end of the season (and more likely by the end of this month)

Sorry, don’t want to piss on your chips, but that team doesn’t look good enough even with a much better manager.

Quick, somebody hold a seance and contact the ghost of Romario. We need his expert input on the chances of hiring Conte despite us being a complete dumpster fire.

have to disagree. There’s absolutely nothing ‘balanced’ about having those first 8 names on the pitch at the same time. Turgid.

I tend to agree - but it sounds like Conte would not get the United job when Ole is sacked next week. That leaves Spurs and Newcastle.

As much money as Newcastle will have, that is probably a bigger task than Conte wants to take on.

Now - this still relies on Levy making promises he would not make this past summer - but desperate times, call for desperate measures.

If Utd really wanted Conte I think they would have appointed him by now.

They're obviously not 100% sold on him for whatever reason.

My friend, Fabio knows the in and outs of Conte. My father has of this summer, become a die hard fan of Tottenham thanks to the signing of Fabio. Excuse my English. Excuse my English again. Conte likes his fried chicken with tomato sauce. This, hopefully, Levy will add to the ChickKing menu no?

"We tried" won't reflect well on Levy at all, not the way this is being reported. DiMarzio is saying that Conte is willing to come and it's up to the club to commit to investing what it will take to be successful. If it doesn't come off it will only confirm that Levy lacks ambition, which will hardly stem the tide of the criticism he's been getting.

If we’re being honest Conte would be crazy to go anywhere near us. If it happens then obviously that’s fantastic, but he really shouldn’t be considering us.

Anyone know when the 22/23 season ticket renewals are due as these stories normally go hand in hand with those?
