Conteball is more and more consistently taking shape now.

Tiny slither if hope of 4th still but regardless of that, if/when we get Conte a good 5 signings in summer and a full pre season, we will be even more consistent next season.

?
Yeah our patterns of play are starting to become more consistent. It’s quite pleasing to see things starting to come together even if the level of performances and results are inconsistent, the way we are playing is clearly developing more and more.

We desperately need to beat West Ham on Sunday to get back to back wins. Hopefully he has us up for it because they definitely will be.

Yes , with media struggling to survive in the manic battle for clicks , even previously mild mannered outlets have now realised this fundamental reality.

Anger = Engagement .
Seems to be the way Gilly……..not one I agree with though…..

I’m not even worried about top 4 at this point, I just think we need to win 2 in a row to break the cycle and build some confidence.

Don't really care too much about the results from here on out. We're clearly improving every match. If we keep Conte and give him the tools, we'll be fine.

Yeah, I agree mate. The foundations have been laid and there is a structure to how we are playing.

Unfortunately because some parts are missing, it means we will be inconsistent. For example, Doherty will do okay at times but it's not the player to maximise Conte's system, also there's a lack of depth in certain positions which means it's hard to keep it fresh.

Having said that, bar the Middlesbrough game, we've looked much better and more consistent with our play.

And with 10 games to go, we may be able to manage this period.

I echo other peoples comments, you can certainly see shape and patterns of play. I do think though that at times it is predictable I mean im not exactly a tactical kinda guy, but even you can see that Davies runs very fast with the ball, stops, passes to Reggie and then he cuts inside and tries to pass to Son etc - it is predictable and becomes easy to defend.

Overall though there is definitely progress and improvement over the last few months and hopefully with better quality etc we can make it more impactful and effective.

This is why we need better quality.

If we can get a better CB technically, then they will be able to beat players instead of laying it off and they may be able to play longer passes. Add some variation and then we will be more dynamic.

The blocks are starting to be put in place, it's now a case of adding some dynamism and better technical quality to it.

Exactly this. The tactics and patterns of play are all there we just need more quality to introduce more dynamism and unpredictability, especially at wing-back and off the bench.

Another two or three like Bentancur and Kulu and we will be decent. Good on the ball, rarely make a poor pass, disciplined in and out of possession, and read / understand the game.

Really wish he would rotate/rest players a bit more - he started the same XI that played on the weekend again and waited until the 80th minute to make any changes tonight.

Tough one - as obviously people would go apeshit if he'd made subs earlier and we let in a goal - but we have another big game in three days time and I assume he'll want that same team starting again, just feels inevitable that players will tire towards the end. Nuno got absolutely slaughtered for damaging morale by picking the "reserve team" in the Conference League, but other than Skipp and Sessegnon who are injured it doesn't seem like Conte really trusts anyone that's not in the current starting XI.

Positive outcome overall though - felt like we were good value for the win after a slow start and it's pleasing to see the team getting on the scoresheet regularly for the first time in what feels like ages.

But the majority of players who aren’t playing have showed time and time again they cannot be relied upon

Bentancur was horrific in the first half. And consistently lost the ball in a few other games. Jury is well and truly out for him. Conte needs to drop/rest Son. Bergs must start against West Ham. But he wont. Bergs will defo be gone in the summer. Which is a shame as he’s way better than Moura. Meaning another transfer needed. I will sing (Antonio!) as a fan at the ground but he’s too stubborn and rigid for me. On the plus side Winks wont see another minute without injuries.

Just being out on Bentancur is one of the worst opinions I've read on here in a long while! Everyone is entitled to their own etc, but my word.

He's comfortably our best midfielder, and has been since he came into the side.
