How creative is he though? Genuine question.

He can really hit a ball and he’s tricky, but can he ‘pick a lock’b
I think he can. He creates angles because he can dribble well, and then using his decent vision, execute precision passers at speed. His passing in general is great. Also has a more than decent free kick, both crossing and shooting.
He seems to have got faster aswell, unless I'm misremembering his pace from a few seasons ago.

Isn’t Maddison mentally fragile, struggles for form when he gets in his own head? Thought I heard this from Brendan rogers and the player

if that’s really the case, I’m worried how he will fair with the competition at spurs?

Ali Z on CO'YS:
Either Eze or Oliseh would add something to the squad, hate to upset the applecart but I heard last week we were keen on James Maddison, who I rate but I know many on here don't like.
Maddison would be good as he could play advanced in a 3 if/when we switch to 3-5-2 and he could also play in the tucked in n.o10 roles of Kulu and Son and he’s homegrown.

I don’t like him he’s a bit of a prick just like Richarlison but both good players and if we sign Maddison would definitely get behind him and think he’d be a good signing.

Can't say I've noticed but I don't watch Leicester all the time. When I've seen him he seems to know when to have a crack and when to pass, which I like.

Really on the fence with Maddison. Good player but can't stand him other than his footballing ability. Suppose for the right price it would work. Just really don't want to be where we were a few years ago with bad apples spreading negativity behind the scenes. Let's see though.
Yea I’m not a huge fan either but he ticks a lot of boxes and tbh I think he’s quite arrogant and thinks he’s a bit of a playboy but I think he does get his head down and work hard and doesn’t seem like the type to upset the AppleCart, don’t think that would be an issue with him.

Other than the bits and pieces we read on football forums and the media we don't really know what players are like.

A lot of people probably had an opinion about Richarlison with his on pitch persona but apparently he's got a big heart

But not going to pretend soon as he was mentioned I myself was thinking JM is not my cup of tea

He’s like Eriksen in a sense. But he’s cost a fuck load of money. Not convinced he’s the right player to bet the house on, talented though he is

I know Maddison has a bit of a party boy reputation and can come across as a smug prick, but his post match interviews are some of the most mature, reflective and eloquent I've ever seen from a PL footballer. I think there's a bit more to the lad than most on SC give him credit for.

Maddison would be a dream signing for me. Offers us versatility, he can be the third midfielder in a 3-5-2, cover Son and Kulu or even drop into the mdf 2 in the 3-4-3 if we are chasing the game. He's got ridiculous ball striking and would immediately be our best free kick and corner taker. His numbers last season went under the radar. I would be over Eriksen instantly if we got him, he represents a profile we lack in the squad massively.

Out of interest, why have you concluded he’s potentially a bad apple who is going to cause problems?

He seems a bit cocky, but nothing more than that and I’ve heard interviews where he seems to think about the game, rather than trot out the usual media trained bore fest answers.
Good point, can't pin point anything if I'm being honest but have definitely read multiple things about his personality and demeanour

Under Conte it might not be an issue at all so hopefully I'm completely wrong in my assumptions If it does happen

I'd be happy if we signed any of these three - all very good players.

Worth mentioning the 3 players Ali mentioned were all tracked by us before they moved to the PL. Bowen is another. Makes me think we should not let Spence slip through our fingers.

As for Maddison he shares an agency with Son and Richarlison, an agency we seem to have a good relationship with currently.

we thought Richarlison was a dickhead a few weeks ago and now I know he's the Brazilian Marcus rashford and is a top guy. Maybe everyone deserves a chance

There's probably a law against that...

One of those left to come in will be home grown, we'd rather that be Spence as it allows us more freedom elsewhere, and it also works better from a financial stand point considering other positions and options. Gibson was given a hard deadline and tbf from what I've heard he has been more amicable since, and is actively looking to work this to a conclusion. He's still a stubborn git though so no promises.

Makes complete sense and also why we might be delaying on moving for other targets until this is is sorted one way or the other. Hopefully this gets over the line and soon so Conte can start working with him.
