I’m wondering if it’s a straight cash job or are we looking at a player swap as well. My only reasoning is that we are also advancing with Porro and need to reduce the playing staff.

If Conte can get that bit extra out of him in the same way Kulusevski and Bentancur offered us so much more after becoming regular starters, I’m in. I wasn’t sold on either of them, but they changed my view very quickly. As such, I don’t read too much into his current Roma form.

Give Son’s form I’d like us to go with two up top in Kane and Richy. If bringing him in helps with that then great. Although then I don’t know where dejan plays.

Kane and Richy up top. Zaniolo, Benta, PEH/Bissouma midfield 3 and Kulu RWB ??

70% of Roma's goals this season have come without Zaniolo on the pitch. Outrageous stat considering that Zaniolo has been an undisputed starter when healthy. Miracle that Roma was 3rd in xG last season and 3rd in xG this season even with someone like Zaniolo slowing down offensive play.

(Meanwhile, Dybala under Mourinho - 16 games: 10 goals, 3 assists

Stats like this mean absolutely nothing when there are 11 men on the pitch.

Dybala and Zaniolo don't even play the same position so what is the comparison? We all know Mourinho's system stifles attacking players as well.

If Porro doesn’t come in, but Zaniolo does, we may see more of Kulusevski at RWB. Not an awful idea against mid or lower table sides.
I think I remember a report that said Conte was thought to believe that Zaniolo had the attributes to become a wing back in his system. Not sure if that was thought to be a bonus aspect to him as a signing rather or a more primary driver for his desire get him.

Important thing is we look strong with Richarlison, Son, Kane, Kulusevski, Gil and Zaniolo. Not sure Moura will play again tbh.
That's as strong as we've looked up top in a long time
