I think the issue is if he is seen a a no 1 target then there should be scope to pay a bit of a premium to just “get it done” ok rare occasions rather than it becoming a case of being shafted regularly

think the view is that’s what our “rivals” do when it comes to securing their no 1 targets even if the headline price is high

Context is important. The manager is 50/50 on whether he wants to leave. Your star player and the heart/soul of the club (Kane) will have 12 months remaining on his contract in the summer. If Conte goes due to this then you probably kiss Kane goodbye too. The window wouldn’t be a 1. It’d be catastrophic. -100.

Here's hoping mate. Seems to have been a very complex deal from the get go.

Whether as a result of incompetence, goalposts moved, etc, who knows.

I feel like this is all mind games, make us feel like it's going to shit and at the last minute sign a player that we could have a month ago, but in doing so we all feel grateful we got the player.

Would be stunned if we don’t do anytning between now and the deadline on Tuesday. Most likely outcome is we panic loan/ buy someone shit tomorrow but I really hope we just pay the extra for Porro as he’s a potential game changer.
