Levy is getting Levy'd.

Squabbling over a couple of mil, childish. It will cost us more than that come to the end of the season when we finish 8th, I'm sure its all paper talk and will go through but you never know, been here before so wouldn't be surprised, angry but not surprised.
5% of the price. Couple of million etc.

Pissing about for a whole month too and you leave no time to get someone else in. Its a shitshow every time.

There's no defending it. Maybe Sporting are being d*cks, that's their prerogative and if they think it'll get them more cash that's what they'll do.

But lets not kid ourselves that we're the only ones who run into negotiations with a tough crowd. The reason arsenal or chelsea or whoever get their deals over the line is because they offer a price/terms/package that satisfies the seller.

At the end of the day is Porro is as good as hoped, we need to pay a fee that gets him over here. If he turns out to be another 6/10 player then we need to look our scouting and manager (if he's putting the name forwards/signing off), but we should be going into these transfers expecting the player to be a significant upgrade worth paying for, otherwise we shouldnt be in for him at all.

All just seems about ‘’getting a deal’’ rather than strategical building a squad that can execute a managers plans. Business savvy but football dumb. But surely even Levy can see this would be a fuck up of huge proportions.
The penny pinching usually costs them more in the end too. The whole RB situation since Walker was sold is testament to that. Penny wise, pound foolish.

Surely this gets done and it's just late drama. Can't blame levy for sporting moving goal posts but you can blame him for leaving everything til the last minute in the hope of saving 50p

It sounds to me like you'd actually like him to walk so it makes things worse for the club, not just Levy.

It’s not about liking or disliking, it’s about the character that Conte is & this sort of collapse for a few millions, would surely test his patience.

Will probably be confirmation that he won’t renew in any case ??‍♀️

We are not a well run club.
To discover this on the final day.
For a manager whose whole system relies on having elite wing backs

best chairman in Europe...there is no literally no one out there who could do a better job :woot: :ROFLMAO:

You have to be kidding me if this deal collapses because of 2 and a half mil?

What's our average revenue from a home game?

Porro elevates our squad and especially in the formation Conte plays. I can't cope seeing a right side of emerson where 95% of his attacking play amounts to the square root of f*ck all for another 6 months. I just want full backs that can cross a ball and Porro is a specialist at that.

It's like a never ending circle of pain when it comes to us being linked with top quality players that would improve our squad.

If you don't buy right, you buy twice, or in our case over and over again because we go for the 2nd and 3rd options (barring the few like Kulu etc.)

I'm not surprised about this mornings news but yet I still fall for the same trap every window and am expecting to feel gutted come tomorrow night.

I think the issue is if he is seen a a no 1 target then there should be scope to pay a bit of a premium to just “get it done” ok rare occasions rather than it becoming a case of being shafted regularly

think the view is that’s what our “rivals” do when it comes to securing their no 1 targets even if the headline price is high
Perhaps the original price was seen as a premium. It doesn't matter though - the point is that this transfer doesn't exist in a vacuum. If Levy bends over this time, every selling club we deal with in the future will know that tactic is available to them, potentially killing or increasing the outlay on future deals as well.

I feel like at this point Levy is basically a culture war issue, everyone is entrenched in their positions to the point that logic goes out of the window. From what little we know of this deal and the reasons for it being put on hold, there is no reason to place the blame at his door. As I said earlier, he has been the one moving the goalposts in the past (Moutinho being one memorable example IIRC) and it was absolutely right to slaughter him for it. If you were angry at him then, it makes no sense to be angry at him now.

If you can't get a key player for a key position that has/had a release clause then you are dumb as fuck. Most people improve at their work, Levy seems to be getting dumber. If all that is true at all.

Probably the finance cost from a third party so that Sporting can get the fee at once, while we are paying installments.

Also it's to cover the cost of the tea and biscuits at all of these meetings we've been having. And Doris the tea lady doesn't work for free!

it'll be the cost of taking a piece of paper from one side of the negotiating table to the other. you know how these things add up.

Apologies for off topic, but it reminded me of the time i owed about a quid for Poll tax.

Local council office sent a letter stating i owed something like a quid and whacked £30 on top for the letter.

I didn't even live 500 metres away from the feckin office that sent it. THIRTY FECKIN QUID.

So i finished work, went to the payment office, letter in hand.

Slipped £36 pound cash over the counter. Gadgie behind the counter informs me that i'd overpaid by about a fiver.

"I know, coz next time you want to send me a letter for thirty quid, get a fuckin' taxi instead".

Turned and walked out with not another word said.
