Poch would have got us over the line if he was allowed to implement a full rebuild. It would have been 1 step back to take 2 steps forwards. He got us the closest we’ve been to major glory for years and he did it with no money.

As for your bolded point, this is the latest narrative doing the rounds courtesy of Conte. So I’ll ask again, who are you referring to? I’m going to assume you want Kane and Son sold in the summer right? Because there are only 4 starters currently playing who could have done it to every manager and that’s Kane, Son, Dier and Davies. Davies went off in the first half at 0-0 so that’s 3 Poch era starters.

You can add 1 more in Hojbjerg if you count MourInho’s era. So why isn’t Conte dropping them? And do you realise you’re basically questioning model pros like Kane and Son who have been loyal to our club and given everything, and you’re saying they are toxic?
If I had a leader who one week was praising me, then the next week questioning my professionalism, then I'd probably quit. He's all over the place.

I agree that players need to be taking some culpability but when you say 'these players' who are you specifically talking about? We pretty much have a new team/squad from the one that Poch left.

Are you saying Son, Davies, Dier, Kane are toxic? I don't see it personally.

Exactly. It's absolutely ok to criticise players and say they need to do beter but this latest narrative that they are toxic, get every manager sacked etc, it's completely false and lazy. Any kind of basic research in to this point destroys it's validity.

It's infuriating how these lazy narratives get out there and get recycled despite people not actually being able to break down the argument and prove it's anything more than a lazy deflection of blame.

Toxic is a loaded word but clearly their influence must have contributed to the malaise no matter what people think and that includes St. Harold here.

More articles coming out. Think we get news today at some point.

What does everyone think, Mason until end of season or someone permanent in now?

Exactly, there is really zero excuse for loosing to Sheffield Utd's B team. I don't care how uninspiring the tactics are, we fielded a team of internationals who are on mega wages in comparison to our opponent. Utd clearly didn't really expect to win ether until the second half when they realised we just wanted to roll over for them. Was embarrassing really. And tbh the AC game wasn't much better, they are a mess these days and we should have easily beaten them. Yes Conte is certainly partially at fault for what is going on here and I really don't think he was ever going to be the right fit for us but the players as a group lack pride, desire, grit, ambition, focus and Levy seems to have no realisation that this is the case.

The malaise sets in at the top of most organisations and permeates down the line. I am sure many of us will have experience working in companies like this where the managers or directors are uninspiring or don't know what they are doing, and it impacts everything. It taints the morale of the whole operation and breeds a toxic working environment. Even good people struggle to prosper in that kind of environment.

Not a weakness to take a stance against incompetent and shitty boss with outdated methods, weakness would be just taking the paycheck and be indifferent about it.
Yeah his outdated methods of defending a lead. Nobody does that in this day and age. The players must want someone who never requires to them to defend under pressure. I guess they took a stand to get Poch out because his methods became outdated too? Jose next and then Nuno. Some sort of pattern here I cant quiet work it out (n)

I think permanent because of the international break. But then again he gave himself time after sacking Mourinho and still royally fvcked that up so I wouldn't put any money on it.

It was a massive red flag to me the second i saw that in the documentary.

It’s almost making me want to watch it again to see how the players actually spoke to him. I remember Danny Rose talking to him but can’t remember if he was the only one.

Would any other owner do the same? Surely it’s part of the problem. Plus why would you want to be there when the manager is? All you’re doing by being there is undermining him or making him think he is being watched.

Spence, Bryan, Bissouma, Richarlison, every youth player we have and Danjuma when the manager calls the team selfish knowing they start every game:

Romero has come out this morning defending the players in a subtle post. I think Conte goes very soon now 😢

Yeah. I'm sure even Mourinho commented on what a great pro Davies is. Whilst Son and Kane have consistently been our best players in the last ten years. Dier doesn't strike me as a troublemaker, either. Sure, he has limitations, but he comes across as committed.
Agree on the other 3 but Dier reads to me as toxic. Dier comes across to me as a medium talent with a gigantic ego who takes absolutely no responsibility for his own action always shifting the blame to others.

His comments after the match really rubbed me the wrong way. He was atrocious Saturday and shouldn't be pointing fingers at anybody but himself.
