So he's gone then.

Conte certainly isn't blameless.

But i'm really not looking forward to the start of another aimless 2 year cycle with no plan or proper commitment to a manager from above.

Shambles of a club.

If Daniel goes with Mason, then I'm sure that rules poch out of the job.
I wouldn't be so sure, if the latest rumours are true about Levy.
Apparently the reason he leaves transfers until the last days of the window is because he wants to save money on players wages, also try and squeeze a few extra pennies out of any deal.
Dont shoot me down, it was a rumour on a video I watched so could be full of shit.

If Levy did take on Mason until the end of season and then appoint Poch, thats me done with spurs.

I’m sure the ‘end of week’ comment is likely based on negotiating the settlement in a manner that both parties are happy with. That will take a couple of days.

I hope if they give Mason the job as caretaker, he includes Yaya Toure amongst his staff. The guy has been there and done it. The players will surely have a lot of respect for him.

And if Im Mason, I say grab this opportunity with both hands. Do what you want to do. If that means disposing of 3 at the back, so be it. These are professional footballers. They should be able to manage a tweak in formation.

As for Conte… Im also saddened by this end. Felt like he would lift us up higher. But, a combo of not being able to get the players he needed at the back, along with some of the current players poor attitude and form this season, and a lot of private stress in his life, meant this was always going to end badly.

When on limited resources trick is also not to back up the wrong horse.

Just pointing out that this "serial winner" vs. "bunch of losers" doesn't quite hold up.

We've had quite a turnover of players, it you want to throw out Kane and keep Conte then just say so. Blaming this on Sanchez sitting on the stands or Sessegnon on the treatment table is moot point. It even is to blame it on Dier and/or Davies as latter is one of the rare players that have improved under Conte and never lacks in attitude on our dour look runs much deeper than two players on field. They might not even lack in attitude, they might want to perform. But on top level it is about fine margins, it opposition has more joy in their game, they have the edge. If our approach is dour to players, it is managements job to summon the attitude.

Micromanagement on level Cesc described on Conte would be huge red flag on almost any business these days and sure won't have longevity on football either. Tells why he has never been on a job for that long.
But that's the problem isn't it? We only backed the wrong horse because we're not signing the right players for him. We sign players to develop so we needed a Poch not a Jose or Conte. That's not the fault of Conte, we know what he needs in order to work. Life under Levy is like having an F1 driver who says "I need better tyres" and Levy saying "OK I'll get better suspension". That's great if the suspension is improved but it doesn't address the issue raised by the driver in the first place. Yes we've signed lots of players just not the ones to suit Conte. Again not his fault, he's the wrong fit for us but he will succeed at the right club. You have this agenda against him like he's some nobody manager which he isn't. Just because you hate his style of football you could at least acknowledge what he's achieved. Oh but Davies won a trophy for Swansea like its relevant. Like saying Vardy has more titles than Kane. Its just completely irrelevant and desperation to discredit what Conte has done.

Nothing compared to the last new manager thread, from the initial optimism of Nagelsmann, to settling for Fonseca, the despair of Gattuso then settling on Nuno.

Think I've missed about 15 other potential managers in that search.

If Conte must go then why don’t we just give Poch a short term contract. Give him a 10 game audition. I’m not sure it is the right move to get him back but we might as well see what he’s got for the rest of the season.

If Mason gets it until the seasons end then good luck to him for having the bollocks to take it on, lets back one of our own for a top four push, he's a smart observant guy and will have learnt from Conte's positives and negatives, To Dare is to do...

Been a grim season but the fact the club have managed to make us all this apathetic about yet another failure is just astonishing.

No excitement about any new manager frankly - just doesn't make any difference.
