Then they were not the right managers for the Spurs job, so that's on the guy who appointed them surely?
Totally agree. They were poor appointments, given how Levy runs the club.

Well, that's one down. Just need to get rid of Paratici and then Levy before the re-set starts. This interim manager thing is pathetic and typical of Levy's total inability to lead. Look at Bayern: pro-active. Us? Stumbling about in the dark, hoping to drunkenly grope a 10.
The unusual part isn’t an assistant taking over from the the manager when he leaves, that is pretty common. What is unusual is when an assistant has spent a long time at multiple clubs with the manager taking over. Most often when assistants take over they have only worked together at that one club, Santini and Jol, Kovac and Flick, Moyse and Giggs etc. Not that it hasn’t happened, I’m sure it has, but i still find it unusual as if they’ve been working together for such a long period one would assume they must share a tactical affinity. I guess time will tell, but I still find it strange.Santini and Jol too!
Which makes it even more galling that Levy thought it was a good idea to hire these coaches when our structure doesn't allow for them to thrive. The bloke literally has no idea when it comes to the football side and he should keep his nose out and hires someone who does.Yeah, but you also need to take into account the profile of the clubs at which the majority of those trophies were won.
It's not really surprising that previous Spurs managers have won multiple trophies with the likes of Chelsea, Juve, Real Madrid, Man U, PSG and Inter. Those are some of the biggest and highest-spending clubs in the world. Most managers who go to those clubs win trophies.
Because all that upward trajectory coincided with the best form we’ve ever had as a club, largely due to Poch and during that time Levy failed miserably with recruitment which could’ve pushed us on to actually win something.
What Poch achieved was a miracle by all accounts and since he’s left Levy’s holes have been glaringly obvious for anyone with eyes to see.
We are currently on a downward trajectory.

If you are right it means if we get Nagelsmann he will also fail. And if he has any sense he won't join us. If Levy wants to continue to run the club as he has been doing then someone like Potter is a much better choice as he will work with what ever he is given.Which makes it even more galling that Levy thought it was a good idea to hire these coaches when our structure doesn't allow for them to thrive. Time for a Stellini one mate.
So Levy gets all the flak when things don't go so well and none of the credit when they do?
I credit Levy with our huge trophy hallSo Levy gets all the flak when things don't go so well and none of the credit when they do?
Levy gets the credit for all the off field success we’ve achieved as a BUSINESS, but he has little to no clue how to run a football club. The evidence is there.
As Citeh and Chelsea have proved we wouldn't even be in the conversation without the off field brilliance.
It doesn't matter who the choice is. Unless Levy gets lucky like he did with Poch (don't forget he wanted Van Gaal) and a perfect storm of right players, right time then it's groundhog day until Levy/Enic fuck off.If you are right it means if we get Nagelsmann he will also fail. And if he has any sense he won't join us. If Levy wants to continue to run the club as he has been doing then someone like Potter is a much better choice as he will work with what ever he is given.
Forgive me if I’m wrong but this comes across as condescending towards what those managers have achieved. Without going into details that have been done to death in here, they still had to fight to achieve their success regardless of the club where they won those trophies. What about Mourinho at Porto?
Poch won his first trophy at PSG, the richest club on the planet. Are we going to discount that as “success” to fit this big club narrative?
There’s no need to talk down on those managers achievements just because they happened at big clubs. Just like there’s no need to talk up managers who achieve a trophy or two at smaller clubs.
What we need is a coherent system from the youth team all the way up to the first team, with a solid recruitment strategy for both managers and players that fits a single ethos.
This is one of the departments at the club that seems to have been an issue for a long time now but, instead of addressing it, we take issue with those raising it.In the athletic piece they say his criticism of the medical staff didn't go down well. His the third manager I think to criticise them, mad we ignore multiple managers on this
Are you saying that with a straight face? He gets all the flak when things don't go well? It's the manager that always gets most of the flak, always! Then he appoints another poor fit manager, who again gets the majority of the flak. Rinse and repeat...............So Levy gets all the flak when things don't go so well and none of the credit when they do?
Ironic that you accuse me of being condescending towards those managers' achievements whilst you take a condescending tone towards what I have written.
I have not "talked down" to those managers' achievements. You've chosen to interpret it like that because it's what you wanted to read and fits in with what you wanted to write.
I'm glad you quoted because I hadn't noticed farewell autocorrected to fairweather although fairweather seems apt for this threadTime for a Stellini one mate.
