The decision he makes for the second goal to stop marking his man and drop onto the goal line behind Forster is truly bizarre.
It's symptomatic of a problem I have felt exists for years at Spurs (long before Conte arrived) and that is a lack of communication on the pitch. How often do we see our players receive the ball and then hang on too long and get their pocket pinched - they should be getting calls of man-on so they release the ball earlier.

In the situation for that goal Kane (he's the player who can see the whole picture) should be shouting at Dier to stay with Walcott or "I've got the line" or as a last resort Kane should pick up Walcott having realised Dier has left him free - it's basic Sunday morning stuff.

Imo, we're playing 3 at the back because we don't have the CBs for a back 4, and coincidentally, Conte likes the system. Dier and Lenglet are too slow and lack agility to push higher up the pitch. We need a partner for Romero to be able to change and that needs to be a top player who can defend without crumbling. We could also do with a holding midfielder but Conte's insistence on his system and nothing else won't allow that. If Conte gets the shove I hope the new bloke recognizes that a midfield pivot is asking for trouble with Dier in the middle at the back.

Coming to my school tomorrow to talk about modern languages, so going to try and grill him after he’s chatted to the kids.

He was great with the kids. Said that when he played against Lisbon it was like going home for him. Not ITK worthy stuff but came across as a really normal, sound guy. I teach in a largely Arsenal school so he was mobbed, but we did have a group of girls demanding to see Harry Maguire :ROFLMAO:

Is it a school for the blind?

Another diabolical performance where he’s at the heart of it, along with the club captain.

Anyone playing around them looks a lot worse & their decline is only dragging us further down.

I really hope we don't extend his contract like is being reported.

I like him as a person but his time here is clearly done. I believe his current deals expires next summer. He's likely the kind of guy who will perform next season, if we don't get any offers this summer, in the hope of getting good offers from new clubs on a free.

I really don't want to see him again

He had so much time to chest the ball and pass to a teammate yet the mearhead thought lol just head this. That put team under pressure. Less than 10 seconds later its 1-0

It's a combination of lack of ability, brain and confidence

will be awful to give him a new contract, this is him at 29, imagine how immobile and even slower he will be on the over side of 30.

Nothing against him personally, but enough is enough. Show some sense, show some bottle, show him the door with our best wishes. Even if nobody is willing to pay.

No new contract and sell him. He’s not going to get better and easily replaced in a back 5
and all at sea in a back 4.

Lurch needs to be shown the door this summer. If/when he goes, good luck to him but will be over the moon when he is someone's else's problem and we can finally stop discussing him.
