There really aren't.

Can't believe how many people on here are taking this so personally.
Some really odd views in here, almost emotionally stunted!

Stop trying to apply logic to football. We're grown men following a team to games all over the place and typing away on a forum non-stop. Nothing about this is logically in anyway :)

May be in the minority, but I’m not bothered. Good for him, he’s a good manager and I could see him doing well there.

He was not the right appointment for us, so cannot complain too much.

Disagree with this. Absolutely if he wants to go there and we haven't even contacted him then that's a fair enough decision. However at the same time if spurs fans call him out for it then he just has to take it on the chin. He knows it carries an element of controversy so just accept it. Can't have it both ways.

Said it was a disgrace Lampard was sacked and wanted Tuchel out for a while too.

He's made so many bad calls I do wonder of he's just trying to be controversial to stand out
He’s also an actor so imo all his controversial opinions are just an act. Just ignore him until he slowly fades away.

3/5 past managers have been ex-chelsea, 2 of whom are considered legends of the club

He’s a football manager who’s been offered a job managing a football team. I don’t quite know what people expect him to do - remain permanently unemployed until we decide we want him back? He couldn’t have made it any more obvious that he wanted to return but as I understand it we never approached him, so this is on us, not him. If he’d turned us down and then gone to that lot, he’d deserve everything he got, but that’s not what happened. I don’t wish him any success with them but I don’t feel betrayed that he’s accepted a job.

So? Chelsea fans hated it when their mangers came to us.

I'd also point out that the likes of Conte and AVB who were there for 2 seasons and less than 1 season respectively. Its not really comparable to Poch.

It would be like Klopp going to City now. And that would cause uproar.

I said in another thread - seeing him in Chelsea colours at our place with their fans singing the Pochetinno song I'll find horrible to be honest.

I know we've recently had their ex managers. Difference is they've had so many good times winning stuff under so many different managers, I don't think they're as bothered. Whereas for me, Poch represents the fondest moments of being a Spurs fan. We won fuck all but going to watch us was brilliant.

We really have to get our appointment right. Poch going to Chelsea puts even more pressure on Levy.

Of all the many valid criticisms of Levy, I find it amusing that 'allowing' Poch to go to Chelsea is seemingly the straw that breaks the camels back for some fans.

Move on guys, we've got much bigger problems than getting upset at Poch in a Chelsea tracksuit.

It's a pretty big problem for me.

We're all used to not winning anything and will survive not winning anything in future. But football has still brought us lots of joy over the years.

What Levy has done since 2019 is take away all the small joys and the things we liked about Spurs. We're just becoming a vanilla club that appeals to everyone and no one at the same time (e.g. taking down the Cyprus Spurs flag and crowing about the commercial deals).

I've taken a lot if comfort in recent years from looking back at the Poch era. When I'm feeling low I watch Lucas's goals vs Ajax and Poch's tears. Poch going to Chelsea will now take that away leaving us with nothing to think fondly of Spurs.

Yeah, I think there is an asymmetry in switching between the clubs. Objectively speaking, Tottenham is a step down from Chelsea. It's not a perfect analogy, but I think a West Ham hero moving to Tottenham hurts their fans more than a Tottenham hero moving to West Ham hurts our fans.

I stopped taking football personally long ago. It doesn’t do your mental health any good!

as much as I love Spurs, it’s just a sport, just entertainment , and to the people in it, just a job.

Is it going to become a tradition that we and Chelsea are going to sign eachothers former managers all the time?

Some remarkable rewriting of history going on there, and that's just in the tagline. I haven't even opened the link.
Indeed. Seems his media allies - no doubt led by Ballague - are doing a better job spinning his lines than Levy is in countering them. It's not exactly new that the club's PR is an absolute shambles and maybe not leaking stuff some of the more juicy stuff from behind the scenes could be seen as classy but it does seem odd for there to have been no attempts to leak anything to explain not even contemplating him for the job now.

He thought he was a shoo-in for the United job in particular. Hence his reason for pretty much downing tools and the increasingly sulky press conferences over his last 18 months. He didn't go to United because they weren't as keen as he thought - they had concerns over his ability at the highest level - and never made an offer. It was not his choice.

This is a very childish rationale for wanting a manager. It's easy for anti-Poch folks who typically have no good arguments against his return to point to silly banter-based reasons for Poch's return like this.

I think he could be a big success with us if he came back. I suspect he'll be even more effective in the PL this time around. He was the driver of incredible performance levels at Saints and Spurs when he managed them and us. And he did well at PSG despite the nonsense narrative around his time there.

If Chelsea are the beneficiaries of his next career step, then it is what it is. We don't appear to be showing interest, so it'll be important for us to find someone who might approach the levels we know he's capable of. Let alone exceed them.
Honestly?
You're really coming across as pretty blinkered of late, with a complete inability to understand anyone who doesn't share your opinion.

Yeah. He's an Argentine who has been involved in football all his life. He was at our club for years and knows the level of rivalry with Chelsea. He has even spoken about this and other rivalries in the past. So he'll be aware of how deep these things cut.

So I think it's perfectly acceptable for the Tottenham fans to give him stick for managing them because football is all about rivalries. But it has to be within reason. Fans are entitled to question his loyalty, call him out on the move, sing funny songs, and laugh when Chelsea lose as long as it doesn't spill over into abuse.
