This is not the job to start, just look at Sherwood, if he wants to become a manager, then he needs to see out the season as look for a lower league role.

People speak highly of him, sure he has the ability, but not this job.

The great man gives his vote of confidence

OT, but I hope he wins the Europa League with Seville this season and come back one day either as a player (even as a squad option he's so much useful than some of our spineless ones) or coach. His COYS passion will be so loved and needed.

Genuinely wouldn't be against Mason as out coach longer term as long as DL isn't going to just string him along for the ride.

Would like him to get experience elsewhere first but sometimes in at the deep end is what's needed.

Would absolutely love a scenario where Mason takes up a job in League One or the Championship. Give him some experience and also provide a steady supply of some of our best talents on loan.

Love Lamela and his passion but would rather he came back as a coach when he retire rather than a player. His passion would be infectious around the club and the youngsters.

Ryan has said he is ready for the permanent job, that’s probably good enough for Mr Levy.

I think given the scale of the job we'd be mad to give it to him even if he absolutely smashes the last 6 games of the season.

We're at a really critical juncture as a club and if we don't get this next appointment right we could really screw ourselves long term. Giving the job to Mason based on an absolutely teeny-tiny sample size is too big an ask. Even high risk success stories like Arteta, Zidane and Pep were in their late 30s and had years of working as assistants and B-team coaches under the belts before being given the reigns.

I think he needs to go and learn the ropes and prove himself down in the Championship like Kompany has done, or a few seasons as the direct assistant to a world class coach, before I'd even consider giving him the job.

On current form he could be managing us in the Championship before long! 😬

I know many on here will say its 'too soon' for Mason to be our permeant manager and that is probably the case but we are an absolute mess right now, if he can somehow get us playing good football and finish 5th or 6th that would be a huge huge success.

One great thing about Mason is that he is a Spurs fan and he knows the values of the club and what the fans want in terms of style of play and he will want to succeed with us more than anyone.

Naglesmann is only 5yrs older than him (yes more experienced in terms of full permanent managerial roles) but I'm just playing devils advocate here that Mason has now played under and been part of coaching staff for Poch and Conte for a number of years, he has his coaching badges and he is fully committed to being a manager, given how much of a mess we are there won't be that much expectation end of this season or next as it'll take a while to sort out, if we are ever going to give him the job surely this would be a better time than most all things considered?

I'd rather Slot, Naglesmann etc as I think we need a fresh start with a new exciting name but if Mason does work wonders in the next few games surely on merit he should be considered?

Surely we can't go in a month from "Mason's such a bad option we'd rather just keep Stellini on" to "Mason's actually better than Pochettino, Slot or Nagelsman", without him even managing a game?
I think Mason was going on paternity leave as he just had a baby so didn't take it 1st time around - or so I read somewhere.

POK is so consistently wrong and people on here still post him as "ITK".

He just puts literally everything he sees out there so of course he's right from time to time.
Alasdair gold also thought that was happening so it's not just POK. Follow him for a consistent amount of time and you will see he's genuine. Course some stuff doesn't work out that's the way of ITK and even our best ones here explain that every year to people who take what they say is happening will definitely end up happening.

Mason wouldn’t be top of my list but he definitely wouldn’t be bottom. Think I’d like him to stay on the coaching staff under another manager, maybe being the assistant but I think he’ll want a full time manager job somewhere soon otherwise he’ll never be considered for the top job.

Let's hope he's ready the next 2 games could break or make him
I think given what's gone before, those games are free hits. If we give everything, regardless of results, that's progress in my eyes.

Then we'll see how he does against Palace, Leeds and Brentford.

(Yes I’m a conspiracy theorist.)

Levy never strictly mentioned Mason was in interim charge of the club. He’s also given him a coaching team of people who aren’t simply ex spurs players or the like…

Ally Gold mentions this in his latest pod.
Says he noticed the wording so asked the club for verification and they confirmed he's an interim.
