Have Ally Gold, Dan KP, or the like said anything yet?

No and both those two have released articles on other subjects this morning without mentioning it. It was only last night Gold was talking about Raya as an option on his youtube channel.

It seems Raya himself wants to move as well; whether that be Tottenham or not, we shall see. But if Brentford tries to price him out of a deal, he will apply pressure from his side. I seriously doubt we would just pull out on a deal that is so doable. :)

Meltdown on twitter about us not paying 40m, but I do feel quietly confident will get this done. Not sure many teams will pay 40m for a keeper that only has a year left on his contract, Brentford are going to have to bring the price down or they will lose him for free next season.

POK now saying this is typical Tottenham/Levy tactics and we do it all the time.
Nothing to see here 🤷🏻‍♂️
Haha, from the deal is off to now typical Tottenham tactics. If he knows this, why does he share the initial information? Because he likes the attention...

Wouldn't 40 mil make him the 4th highest transfer fee for a goalkeeper ever?

On a one year left at Brentford as well. Seems nuts to me

We spend more money taking the cheap route than when we occasionally splash big on a player. Look at how we tried to replace Walker. Sold for £50mil the we went through Aurier (£23mil), Doherty (£13mil), Spence (£20mil) and now Porro (£40mil once we activate). Spent nearly twice as much as we received because of poor recruitment. Can see history repeating itself already if we find Raya to be out of our budget.
And Emerson!

Its reasonable for Brentford to not budge off that price. They know there’s a few teams in the league needing a keeper that are stupid enough to pay it.

Not heard anything on this one to suggest things have changed. It's not to say things haven't, but the update I received a few days back were that a fee was almost agreed more towards the 30m mark. I was very confident that Raya would be our first signing but things do change. Who knows 🤷🏼‍♂️
Thanks for the update.

As much as one can ever tell with these things, this does feel like typical deal about to be done posturing from both sides. Brentford leak that Chelsea are interested (which is an easy leak as Chelsea are interested in every single player on the planet) and we leak that we're also looking at other options.

Both clubs know they want the deal to happen, in our case we want the player but there are other (probably less good) options out there. Brentford want the deal to happen but feel if they apply a bit of pressure they'll get a bit more money.

Unless Chelsea actually come with a serious bid within a day or two then clearly Brentford will need to close out negotiations with us.

I reckon this gets announced as a funtime Friday deal.

Especially as they've already spent £11m on his replacement.

Slightly off topic but be careful when looking at fees. That ‘cheap option’ Aurier was the 4th most expensive right back when signed.

O'Keefe again and still people run onto SC to repeat it as if it has any sort of credibility or relevance any more. It's verging on time to ban his

From him? It's worth fuck all. In industrial quantities.

It’s not a tit for tat, or defenders as you put it, some people know him, so of course they’ll listen to his tidbits.
