Poch got lucky to have 5 or 6 amazing players available. That wasn't his planning. He did a great job for a few years but was then found out/not backed. I think he's taken on a tough job at Chelski, not sure he'll be given time.
Fuck me can we be delighted with Ange without rewriting history to slag off our best manager of the last 40 years (at least)? Poch coached up loads of that team - remains the only manager ever to get a tune out of Dele, Dembele improved hugely, and if you’d told someone Walker and Rose were going to be the team of the season full backs when Poch took over you’d have been laughed out of town. That’s if you give him no credit at all for the development of Kane, Eriksen and the CBs. You can remove the ‘found out’ as well as he indisputably wasn’t backed. Liking one thing doesn’t mean you have to dislike everything else

I spent a lot of today with so many Celtic pals, they are all buzzing. They just all love him and are excited to see what happens. They are already unhappy with Rogers in comparison. Strangely, at least 3 of them all individually said he needs to sign Mitoma he’d be amazing for us under Ange. Weird Asian thing going on.

Amyways yeah

what the actual fuck is this?
Mine's to Waltzing Matilda, maybe you missed that, someone put in a request earlier in the thread. Not as good as my sig, I'll grant you, but I thought it was self-explanatory. ;)

To be honest, I don’t want anyone who wanted to go to Saudi. Lack of ambition and happy to sportswash
honestly i can forgive and move on. It seems like he possibly had a change of heart and realized what he was doing. It must be really hard at 21 or however young he is to turn down that life changing money. It could set up your parents as well as your family for generations to come.

It's easy for me to say i wouldn't go because that contract hasn't been put in front of me and i genuinely believe that every single one of us would take a good long look at it.

Every news report on Sunday were talking about Ange's Tottenham Hotspur beating Man Utd in his first home game.
I have never, ever seen that sort of reporting on our club over here ever.
Could well have a new heap of Spurs supporters from Down Under soon.

Biggest Conte's achievement here may as well be how he managed to gaslight big part of the fandom into believing that our players can't pass and don't understand tactics. Very exciting to see Ange showing how wrong that was.
No, “he just needed to be back with only world class players”. Honestly, it’s the best example of ‘emperors new clothes’ I’ve seen. Since Mourinho…

He finished 8th with Southampton before us. Poch has his flaws, but he is a good manager.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. We have played well in one match and there has only been two games so far. Mourinho has won nearly as many trophies as we have in our entire history and Conte did fairly well in his first season.

"He did a great job" is not slagging off, nor am I not delighted with Ange.

And Jose, and Poch. We’ve had a great squad for the last 5 years, all we needed was a decent coach to build a team that was more than the sum of its parts. What we got was a trainer, whose high press worked for a season, until it was found out, then he proved to have nothing else, but was still beloved of so many on here. Then we went for the high profile Uber managers, who couldn’t coach to save their sorry arses, but were the only ones who had the kudos to persuade Levy to spend, we were told. Potter would have been out of his depth, we were told, it can’t be the managers, it has to be the players, we were told. The squad is now better than it was, but it was never as bad as our managers made it look.

Poch got lucky to have 5 or 6 amazing players available. That wasn't his planning. He did a great job for a few years but was then found out/not backed. I think he's taken on a tough job at Chelski, not sure he'll be given time.

Two of the worst takes I've read on here, which is quite something. Kudos.

That's. a personal opinion my favourite in last 40 years was BMJ
Don't really get this Poch can / did no wrong attitude He arrived after a complete shit show of managers not same comparison as current Chelsea So thankfully he improved us He did a good job but not always about backing with cash Look at Brentford and Brighton At the time I think Poch was getting his head turned not all about not having the players
To be honest never happy with him playing Kane in final unfit Ruined my trip to Madrid No manager is perfect Hope Ange proves me wrong

Well all loved Jol but Poch was obviously a better manager for this club. He got us competing at the top table for an extended period of time. Unheard of. Did an amazing job. Want him to fail at Chelsea of course but this rewriting of history is beyond tedious. One of your biggest complaints about him seems to be that he picked the wrong line up in the champions league final. The very same champions league final that we never even would’ve dreamed of playing in before he arrived here.
